Here s the church, Here s the steeple, Open the doors. And see all the people, Dear friends, On February 22nd I asked everyone in worship to write down. four things that they would miss most about Northwest Church if. they were suddenly transported to a far off land Siberia. maybe or Timbuktu The responses varied somewhat some. would miss the choir or serenades from our youth Others. would miss the sermons or Disciples Women But almost. everyone agreed about one thing We would miss the people. We would miss the friendships the sense of kinship and the. care that members of this congregation show toward one. another We would miss the love that fills our little sanctuary. each week in worship, This does not surprise me in the least It s what drew me to this. church in the first place But it was deeply satisfying to see it. written on almost every card I received We love each other. Amen to that, We ve been trying to sort out a good motto for our church a. statement about who we are and what we stand for It s been. harder than you might imagine We don t have the sleekest. worship in town or the most elegant programming We re small. and we re a little older than the flashier congregations around. town What we re good at is hard to advertise how do you. convey the loyalty and care that we feel for one another Maybe. we could talk about how we re all members of the body of Christ. trying to work together in harmony to bring glory to God. 1 Corrinthians 12 Or maybe we could say that we have. gathered together and we have found the Spirit in our midst. Matthew 18 20 Or perhaps we would express how we are. proud to bear one another s burdens Galatians 6 2 Maybe the. Psalmist said it best when he exclaimed, How very good and pleasant it is.
when brothers and sisters live together in unity, It is like the precious oil on the head. running down upon the beard, on the beard of Aaron. running down over the collar of his robes, It is like the dew of Hermon. which falls on the mountains of Zion, For there the Lord ordained his blessing. life for evermore, Open our church doors and you find a small group of people.
people who have come looking to love and be loved The. Psalmist was right that is a precious thing And a taste of life for. Yours in Christ, Pastor Liv, BITS PIECES, A SPECIAL THANKS TO.
