A MESSAGE FROM OUR PASTORFr. Manuel DorantesPastorDear Parishioners and Friends of Saint Mary’s,I hope this message finds you and your loved ones healthy and well.In light of the current coronavirus pandemic, our primary concern is the spiritual and physical health andwelfare of the faithful and all those who serve our parishes. We also recognize that we have a duty to carefor those among us who are most vulnerable. This weekend we will be invited to contribute towards that duty by making a commitment to 2021 Annual Catholic Appeal. Many families in our parish have already received the Annual Catholic Appealmailing from Cardinal Cupich. On behalf of those served by the ministries, parishes and schools who receive funding from the Appeal, we thank you for your gifts. Please return your response as soon as possible. The Annual Catholic Appeal offers a wonderful opportunity to answer Jesus’ call to “Come, follow me and bring hope to the world.” This is especially important during these trying and challenging times. Many in our parishes are affected financially by the pandemic, and we encourage giving at all levels tosupport this initiative. In addition to providing for ministries and services throughout the archdiocese, the Annual Catholic Appeal funds services in our own parish. When we financially support the work of our parish, our archdiocese and the Catholic Church throughout the world, we experience a feeling of deep gratitude, especiallywhen we contemplate God’s many gifts to us personally. By sharing our wealth through gifts to the 2021Annual Catholic Appeal, we demonstrate our commitment to the Church and each other.Since our services are limited in the number who gather in person, there is an online giving option at annualcatholicappeal.com When you visit the website please make sure you credit Saint Mary of the Lakeas you make your donation. Our parish goal this year is 25,238.While challenging days remain, we also recognize this opportunity to be truly present to one another andcare for those who are struggling. Please join me as we continue to pray for all thoseaffected by COVID-19, those who are caring for the sick and for each other.Thank you for your generosity,Fr. MannyPage 5 www.saintmarys.org

PARISH EVENTS & NEWSPlease Plan to Make Your Gift to the2021 Annual Catholic AppealWe invite you to spend some time this week reflectingon the Annual Catholic Appeal materials you shouldhave received in the mail. The Annual Catholic Appeal ismuch different than a one-time special collection: It is apledged commitment to make a gift over time. Yourpledge can be made payable in installments. Each pledge makes a difference because all parishes participate in the campaign and the gifts of many enable ourarchdiocese to deliver needed ministries and services toanswer the call of Jesus to “Come, follow me and bringhope to the world.”If you received your pledge form in the mail, please complete it and mail it back. This year, we also encourage our parishioners to maketheir Annual Catholic Appeal gifts online or via textmessage: annualcatholicappeal.com or text the word“ACA2021” to 345345.Our parish goal is 25,238ThisWeek at Saint Mary’sSAINT MARY’S BOOK CLUBThe St. Mary of the Lake Book Group will meet Thursday,February 11th at 7pm.
