Develop and implement systems to establish, maintainand strengthen effective relationships within and acrossthe Department and with other state and commonwealthdepartments, non-government agencies, key peakorganisations and stakeholders to ensure that programsand initiatives targeting Aboriginal students are effectivelyimplemented, monitored and evaluated, and result inimproved outcomes. Work collaboratively with the NSW Aboriginal EducationConsultative Group Inc. (NSW AECG Inc.) and uphold theprinciples of the partnership agreement between theDepartment and the NSW AECG Inc. Provide high quality expert, strategic advice to the Minister, Secretary,and other Executives on all issues relating to this Premier's Priority,increasing the proportion of Aboriginal students attaining Year 12 by50 per cent by 2023 whilst maintaining their cultural identity.Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic,operational plans, programs and initiatives to align with theDepartment's goals for Aboriginal students and this Premier’s Priority.Establish and maintain effective program governance models, programmanagement systems, procedures and guidelines, includingappropriate methodologies for measuring, monitoring and reportingon individual projects. Facilitate identification of variations from planand necessary remedial actions.Develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships,particularly with the NSW Coalition of Aboriginal Peak Organisations(CAPO), of which the NSW AECG Inc. is a member, and the Premier’sImplementation Unit to exchange information related to renewedprograms and services.Plan and lead the implementation of integrated stakeholderengagement strategies to understand key concerns and issues toimprove services and service delivery and enhance the perceptionsand experiences of students, families and schools. Provide high quality advice, direction and support to thedelivery of public school education (P -12) to improve outcomesfor Aboriginal students across NSW. Develop and implement strategies and programs to improve thecapacity of schools, staff and Aboriginal communities to providerelevant, high quality learning experiences that are culturallyinclusive and responsive to students’ aspirations and lead toenhanced outcomes for Aboriginal students from pre-school toYear 12. Contribute to the successful achievement of departmental andgovernment goals and priorities for Aboriginal children andyoung people by recognising and representing the unique needsof these students and their school communities. Establish, maintain and strengthen effective relationships withinand across the Department to ensure that programs andinitiatives targeting Aboriginal students are effectivelyimplemented, monitored and evaluated, and result in improvedoutcomes.
