Theintake department of the Base Service Unit will either arrange for youto bring your child in for an intake or will guide you in the appropriatedirection. If your child has MA but you are not yet enrolled in MBH because yourchild’s eligibility was granted only a few weeks ago, you can also thencontact the Base Service Unit nearest you to access behavioral healthservices for your child at no cost.If you have private insurance, find out from your insurance company ifthere are specific mental health agencies that you must use for yourinsurance to pay for services. If so, those are the agencies you mustgo to access behavioral health services for your child. However, forspecific community-based services like Intensive Behavioral HealthServices, Blended Case Management and Family Based, these canonly be accessed through enrollment in MA.If your child is not enrolled in the MA program and you think your childhas significant behavioral health needs, go to the PennsylvaniaDepartment of Human Services website ic/CMPHome tofill out a MA application for a child with a mental health disability(PH 95 category).
