It shouldbe considered a permanent part of your Supra boat, and contains importantinformation on Safety, Boating Rules, Proper Operation and Maintenanceof your boat. Should the boat be sold, this manual will provide the sameimportant information to the next owner.Be sure to read and understand all aspects of Boating Safety and Operationbefore using your boat. Idle RPM: (650-750) in gear. Maximum Forward RPM: See Engine Owner’s Manual. GASOLINE VAPORS CAN EXPLODE! It is very important to check for fuel spillage or leaks prior to eachuse of your boat. Check engine compartment for gasoline vapors. Operate blower for 4 minutes before starting the engine. Always operate blower below cruising speed. Section 2Boating SafetyImportant Safety Information!Safe BoatingYour safety, as well as the safety of others with and aroundyou, is a direct result of how you operate and maintain yourboat. Read and comprehend this manual. Make sure thatyou understand all the controls and operating instructionsbefore attempting to operate the boat. Improper operation isextremely dangerous.The basic safety rules are outlined in this section of the manual.Additional precautions throughout the manual are noted bythe following symbols:Safe boating practices may seem obvious, but people havethought up risky and dangerous activities in boats, with boats,and behind boats. Just because you or your passengers haveseen a boating maneuver performed or have seen a particularactivity promoted, do not assume there is no risk of injury ordeath. Before you or your passengers go out in the boat andengage in any water sport activity, give careful consideration tothe risks. Plan ahead. Think twice before you try something newbehind your boat or with your boat. Know the limits of you, yourpassengers and your equipment and do not exceed them.This symbol indicates a potentially hazardous circumstance,which, if not avoided, may result in minor or moderate injury. The more popular sportsare wakeboarding, waterskiing, surfing, wakeskating andtubing. And there are many others. The terms used to describeparticipants in towed water sports activities also vary greatly.Typical terms include rider, skier, and wakeboarder. To keep thelanguage in this manual straightforward, we use rider or skierto refer to a participant in any towed water sport. The terms ski,skiing, riding, surfing or wakeboarding are used to refer to anytowed water sport.5—

In addition, responsible boaters carry other equipmentin case of emergency. Check with the local boating authoritiesfor any additional requirements over and above the federalstipulations.Federal law also requires at least one Type I, II or III PersonalFlotation Device (PFD) for each person on board or being towedon water skis or other recreational equipment. In addition, onethrowable Type IV PFD must also be on board. As the owner,obtaining the appropriate PFDs is your responsibility. YourSupra dealer can and will be happy to assist you.NOTE: Requirements for coastal waters and inlandwaters differ. Check with the local authorities for moreinformation.A smart owner will avoid potential problems on an outingby having additional equipment on board. Normally, thisequipment is dependent on the body of water and the lengthof the trip.We suggest the following—as a minimum. Your Supra dealercan also assist you with additional recommendations. An anchor with at least 75 feet of line A manual bailing device for removing water A combination oar/boat hook A day-and-night visual distress signal A first aid kit and manual An airway breathing tube A waterproof flashlight A set of local navigation charts Mooring lines and fenders Extra engine oil A tool kit A portable AM/FM radio or weather radio VHF hand held marine radio Cell PhoneBoating-related accidents are generally caused by the operator’sfailure to follow basic safety rules or written precautions. General Safety Precautions (continued)General Safety PrecautionsFailure to adhere to these precautions may result in severe injuryor death to you and/or others. Improper operation is extremely dangerous. Operators mustread and understand all operating manuals supplied withthe boat before operation. Remain seated at all times while the boat is in motion. Never stand or allow passengers to stand while the boat ismoving. You or others may be thrown from the boat. Children in the bow of the boat should be accompanied byan adult at all times. Never operate the boat while under the influence of alcoholor drugs. On-board equipment must always conform to the governingfederal, state, and local regulations. Gasoline vapors can explode. Before starting engine, openengine box, check engine compartment for gasoline vapors,and operate blower for at least four minutes. Run blowerbelow cruising speed. Leaking fuel is a fire and explosion hazard. Inspect systemregularly. Examine fuel tanks for leaks or corrosion at leastannually. The tow bar is not designed for vertical extensions. Anymodifications to the tow bar or its mountings may result indamage to the boat and injury to the user. The tower may strike low objects. Check clearance heightaround docks, shore, overhanging objects, bridges andpower lines. Do not pull past 45 degrees of the centerline of the boat.Failure to follow this rule could result in the boat capsizing. It is the driver’s responsibility to ensure all passengers areseated when the boat is underway.Failure to adhere to these warnings may result in severe injuryor death to you and/or others. Never override or modify the engine safety shut-off switchor engine neutral starting safety switch in any way. Never remove or modify components of the fuel systemin any way except for maintenance by qualified personnel.Tampering with fuel components may cause a hazardouscondition. Never allow any type of spark or open flame on board. Itmay result in fire or explosion. It is the owner’s responsibility to check tightness of the towerbolts BEFORE each use.Boaters must continuously be aware of weather conditions. The tower is designed to pull a single (1) individual. DO NOTclimb or sit on the tower. Rope may loop on inverted tricks.DO NOT sit behind the pulling point of the tower. Comply with the capacity limits stated on the capacitywarning label in the boat. This boat is a high-performance boat and capable of quickand tight turns and changes in direction. It is the driver’sresponsibility to operate the boat in a manner to ensure thesafety of all passengers.Sudden storms, wind, lightning, etc., can unexpectedly putboaters in grave danger. Always check the local weatherreport before going boating.It is the driver’s responsibility to determine if weather or otherfactors have created an unsafe boating environment.The driver is solely responsible for the consequences of theiractions. To avoid serious personal injury, DO NOT be on or about theswim platform while engine is running and keep away fromrear of boat while engine is running. Water Sports SafetyRiders are obligated to be as aware of the fundamental safetyrules as well as the boat operator. If you are new to towed watersports, seek certified training before starting. You will findit especially helpful to join a local ski club and USA Waterskiwhen possible.Always remember that the majority of water sports injuries arethe result of impacts with other objects, so always look whereyou are going and be aware of what is going on around you.Carbon Monoxide (CO) Safety (continued)NMMANational Marine Manufacturers Association231 S. Always have an experienced driver and observer in the boatwhen skiing. Never ski in shallow water, close to shore, or in water whereyou do not know the depth or what is beneath the surface. Never put your arm, head, or any other part of your bodythrough the handle-bridle of the ski line nor wrap the linearound any part of the body at any time. Never ski at night, or directly in front of other boats. Never jump from a boat that is moving at any speed, nor enteror exit the water when the engine is running (ON). Make sure that everyone knows and uses approved skiinghand signals and common skiing courtesy.Carbon Monoxide (CO) SafetyCarbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless and tasteless gas. If you or your passengersare unsure about use of the product, about performing certainboating maneuvers or are unsure about a particular wateractivity, refer to this manual or contact a knowledgeable sourcesuch as your local dealer, Skier’s Choice, Inc., the US Coast Guard,or your local boating authority.Capacity and Weighting Your BoatDo not exceed the capacity warning label affixed to the boatin the helm area. The capacity limit is shown in the number ofpeople and weight limit in pounds. The combined weight ofpeople and gear must be considered when loading the boat.Factory ballast and fuel have been considered in the capacitylimit and do not need to be added to the people and gearweight. Ballast weight above factory installed equipment mustbe calculated into the total weight of people and gear.Although water intrusion and waves spilling inside a boat isan obvious boating hazard, this hazard can increase whenweighting your boat for water sports such as wakeboardingor wakesurfing. Do not overweight the boat or exceed boatcapacity. Use good judgment when using unbalanced weightin your boat. Concentrating weight in a rear corner of the boatfor wakesurfing puts the top of the deck closer to water level.Backwash, large waves and choppy water are more likely toswamp the boat in this situation.When
