The contractor shall be acceptable to thearchitect, manufacturer, and owner's representative.B.Fire Performance Characteristics: Rulon Endure Linear Suspended EngineeredPolymer Ceiling System is "Fire Resistant" - receiving a Class 1, or A flamespread rating, when tested in accordance with ASTM E-84.C.Acoustical Characteristics: Acoustical performance shall be enhanced byplacement of sound-absorbing material above the Engineered Polymer ceilingstrips. Sound absorption varies with the thickness of the absorption materialused.-1-

Thisincludes light fixtures, HVAC equipment, and fire suppression systemcomponents.SUBMITTALSA.Product Data: Rulon International shall provide product specifications andinstallation instructions for all supplied ceiling materials.B.Shop Drawings: When required, Rulon International shall supply shop drawingsoutlining the placement of hangers and the location of carriers, and any otherdetails necessary for proper installation.C.Samples: A 9” (229mm) wide x 12” (305mm) long sample shall be submitted forapproval. The sample shall consist of 3 ceiling strips of the style and colorspecified assembled onto the carrier.DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLINGA.All materials shall be delivered to the project site in original, labeled, unopenedpackages.B.Materials shall be stored flat and level in a fully enclosed space, preferably in theroom in which they are to be installed.C.Care in handling must be exercised to avoid damage.WARRANTIESA.Manufacturer: All materials supplied by the manufacturer shall be guaranteedagainst manufacturing defects for one (1) year.B.Contractor: All work shall be guaranteed for one (1) year from final acceptanceof completed work.-2-

RULON ENDURE 800 LINEAR SUSPENDED ENGINEERED POLYMER CEILING SYSTEMSARCHITECTURAL SPECIFICATIONSPART 2 - PRODUCT2.012.022.03ENGINEERED POLYMER STRIPSA.Engineered Polymer ceiling strips shall be of Rulon Endure manufacture. Thestrips are designed to connect onto the Rulon suspension carrier. TheEngineered Polymer strip pattern shall be #800 series in [specified color] [with orwithout] spacers. The spacers, in [specified color], shall be installed between theedges of each strip, with the flat face visible.B.Pattern dimensions shall be: 4" (102mm) modules, consisting of EngineeredPolymer strips 3-1/4" (83mm) wide, with 3/4" (19mm) spacers between strips.Cut ends of Engineered Polymer strips shall have clean, square cuts, buttedtogether, and connected on the back side with a piece of cut Engineered Polymer#850 splicer strip snapped tightly between the strips to ensure alignment.SUSPENSION SYSTEMSA.The standard suspension carrier shall be of Rulon manufacture, and consist ofcommercial grade steel with surface prepared, and painted. In swimming pooland other corrosive environments, use the Rulon carrier coated with a blackprotective coating system.B.Hangers to support carriers shall be #12-gauge steel wire.EDGES, BORDERS, AND PERIMETER TRIMA.2.04Edges, borders, and perimeter trims shall be standard design, as manufacturedby Rulon International.COLORSA.All Engineered Polymer strips shall be factory-manufactured in the color, or finish,selected for the project.PART 3 - EXECUTION3.01PREPARATIONA.Ceiling Layout: Contractor shall measure ceiling areas and establish layout ofhangers and carriers, in accordance with installation instructions.-3-

He shall furnish concrete inserts, steel deckhanger clips, or similar devices for installation, in time to coordinate the work.The contractor shall coordinate with other trades the location of devices whichwill penetrate the Ceiling Panels or interfere with the installation. Recessed orsurface devices located within the ceiling panels are to be located and cut in thefield.INSTALLATIONA.General: The contractor shall install materials in accordance with RulonInternational printed instructions. The installation will comply with applicableregulations and industry standards.B.Perimeters: Using a leveling device, the contractor shall lay out and installperimeter trim, as specified.C.Suspensions: Rulon Endure carriers shall be placed perpendicular to thedesired Engineered Polymer strip direction, and positioned on 3' (915mm) or 2’(610mm) centers - as specified by the manufacturer. Carriers shall besuspended from specified hangers - starting 6" (152mm) from one wall, then onspecified centers, with the last carrier positioned within 6" (152mm) of the otherwall. Specified hangers shall be attached directly to structure, or to inserts, screweyes, or other devices that are secure, and that will not deteriorate or fail withage or elevated temperatures.D.Engineered Polymer Strip Installation: Rulon Endure Engineered Polymer stripsshall be fully attached to the carrier by snapping one side of the strip into positionfirst, followed by the second side. When properly installed, the strips shall befirmly secured, and fully level. When spacers and acoustical blankets arespecified, they shall be fitted as the installation of strips progresses. End cutsare butted tight together by snapping a short piece of #850 ceiling material,behind the strips, to create a secure, aligned joint.E.HVAC and Light Fixture Suspensions: Electrical and mechanical installationsshall be supported independently of the linear Engineered Polymer ceiling.ADJUSTMENT, CLEANING, AND REPAIRA.The contractor shall make final adjustments to level or contours.B.Upon completion of the ceiling installation, the contractor shall clean allEngineered Polymer strips, spacers, and borders of dirt, dust, grease, oils, andfingerprints, etc. - using liquid detergent on a clean cloth.C.All work that cannot be successfully cleaned and repaired shall be removed andreplaced.-4-

Any deficiencies in the installed ceiling shallbe corrected by the contractor at no additional cost to the owner, or to ceilingmanufacturer.-5-
