Thule Tracker II Roof RacksInstallation InstructionsFiberglass Truck CapsTools Required:Drill – 3/16” BitPhillips Screw Driver3/8” Deep Socket or End WrenchMasking TapeMarkerCaulk or SiliconeAllen Wrenches are includedStep 1On the inside roof of the truck cap measure the width of the insulated roof (see image 2). The tracks willneed to be installed about 1 inch outside of the insulated roof line. The insulated roof sections shouldbe rectangular so the width at the front should be the same as it is at the rear. (see image 1)(image 1)
(image 2)Step 2Using tape, find and mark the center of the truck cap at the front and the rear. With the measurementobtained in step 1, place the roof racks on the top of the truck cap and measure them so that they are 2inches wider than the width of the insulated roof area. At the same time, make sure the rails are anequal distance from the center line of the truck cap. The rails need to be installed completely parallel inorder for the cross bars to slide smoothly in the track. (see image 3)(image 3)
Also, Make sure the tracks are centered front to rear on the truck cap. Measure back from the front ofthe truck cap and use tape to mark the correct position. (see image 4)(image 4)Step 3Once the track is positioned at the correct installation point, use a drill with a 3/16” drill bit and drill allof the fastening points on the track. (see image 5)(image 5)
Step 4Assemble the landing pads (cross bar base plates) per the instructions in the box.Slide the assembled landing pads (cross bar base plates) into the tracks before inserting the screws inthe holes. (see image 6)(image 6)Step 5IMPORTANT: Move the tracks out of the way. Use caulk or silicone to seal all of the holes in the truckcap. Make sure to overlap the holes for the best seal. Put the track back in place lining all of thepreviously drilled holes up with the holes in the track.This step is vital to keep the holes from leaking.Step 6Insert the track end caps in the ends of the tracks. With help, insert the screws into each of the holes.While holding the screws from the top have your assistant install the washer and nut on the inside ofthe truck cap. Tighten the screws at this time.
Step 7Position the landing pads at the desired locations. Make sure the front landing pads are the samedistance from the front and the rear landing pads are the same distance from the rear. Use theprovided Allen wrench to tighten the landing pads. (see image 7)(image 7)Step 8Install the locking cores to the uprights per the instructions in the box.Attach uprights to the landing pads and insert the cross bars into the uprights. Position the cross bars sothey are centered. Using the other Allen wrench provided, tighten all of the cross bars to the uprights.Attach the end caps to the cross bars. (see image 8)(see image 8)
Step 9(OPTIONAL)The screws that come with the kit are too long to install the black covers over the nuts on the inside ofthe truck cap. If desired, you can cut the bottoms of the screws off to allow for the installation of theblack caps. (see Image 9)(image 9)Once the ends of the screws are cut off you can install the black covers over the nuts. (see image 10)(image 10)Installation is complete
