REGULATIONS AND SYLLABUSI.Eligibility for Admission:Candidates for admission to the first year Degree of Bachelor ofBusiness Administration Course shall be required to have passed the HigherSecondary Examination (Academic or Vocation Stream) conducted by theGovernment of Tamilnadu or an Examination accepted as equivalent there toby the Syndicate, subject to such conditions as may be prescribed from time totime.II.Eligibility for the award of Degree:A candidate shall be eligible for the award of the Degree only if he/shehas undergone the prescribed course of study in Periyar Institute of DistanceEducation (PRIDE) for a period of not less than three academic years andpassed the examinations prescribed and fulfilled such conditions as have beenprescribed therefore.III.Course of study:a) Objectives of the coursei.To provide the basic and essential knowledge regarding variousactivities undertaken and necessary to run socially responsible businessorganization;ii.To impart certain basic skills and aptitude which will be useful in takingup any particular activity in a business;iii.To provide a global view of the several financial and other institutionsand their functions which support the business system;iv.To develop the personality so as to become a responsible citizen withgreater awareness about the Indian society and its cultureb) The course of study for the BBA Degree shall consist of Foundation Course,Core, Allied and Application Oriented Subjects.

Passing MinimumA Candidate shall be declared to have passed in each paper if he/shesecures not less than 40% of marks prescribed for the examination. He/sheshall be declared to have passed the whole examinations, if he/she passes in allthe papers as per the scheme of examinations.

V. Classification of Successful Candidates:Successful candidates passing the examination securing the marks (i)60% and above and (ii) 50% and above but below 60% in the aggregate of themarks prescribed for Core, Allied and Application Oriented subjects togethershall be declared to have passed examination in First and Second classrespectively. All other successful candidates shall be declared to have passedin the examination in the THIRD Class.Candidates who obtained 75% of marks and above in any subject shallbe deemed to have passed that subject with distinction provided they passed theexamination at the first appearance.VI. RANKINGCandidates who pass all the examinations prescribed for the course inthe first appearance only are eligible for Ranking.
