GENERALRECNIIREMENTS4.1Corrective action and dispositionsystem.Thecontractorshal 1establish and malntalna systemwhichshallidentify,segregate(ornotpractical) , andproperlydisposeofcontrol ifsegregationisnonconformingmaterialandshall s takento prevent,minimize,or eliminatenonconformances.The systems’ all work towardcontinualimprovementofquality and productivitythrough the initiationand monitoringof OIPS.4.2StatisticalProcess Control (SPC) .SPC techniquesincludingconCent roltrol limits and control charts shall be used when aDoroDri ate.limits must be establishedstatisticallyor by othe ’ methods acceptableto the Government and be based upon the documentedhistory of the processcapability.Nonconformancesdue to chance causes4.2.1Control limit standards.can occurthat maynot warrantindividualcorrectiveaction.As analternativeto individualcorrectiveaction the contractormay developand recommend to the Government the use of a standard(s)to control s shal 1 specify the control limits at which corrective action rust be taken; describe criteria forand providefor the accumulationanddeterminingthe control imits;maintenanceof data for monitoringprocessesand obtainingcorrectiveactions as dictated by collectiveanalyses, trend reviews, or other meansacceptable to the Government.The contractorshallinstituteactionsto4.3Ouality improvement.prevent nonconformancesand initiateOIPS ctorshallassignorganizationalelements,tears, or individualsto investigatetechnology,methods,and proceduresto increase efficiencyand conformanceto requirements.The contractorshall monitor the 01P progress towardestablishedgoals at regularintervals.The requirementsof this paraqra hshall be the responsibilityof the CAR or, at” the discretionof “the ‘contractor, of a contractorgroupsenior to the CAB. !!4.4Contractor’swritten procedures.The requirements of this standardshal 1 be impl ementedby the contractorthrough the preparation,publ ication, and maintenanceof detailedwritten procedures.The contractorshal 1 identify personnelappointedPR authorityand those to act on thetlRB and CAR, and shall indicate in the procedures the scope or extent oftheir authority.The contractor’sproceduresshal 1 also indicatethemanner in which documentationis maintained.4.5Material Review Board (tfRB).TheMRBshal 1 bechai redbyarepresentativeof the contractor’sOuality organizationand shall include,as requi red, personnelrepresentingother contractororganizationsnecessary to determineappropriatedispositionof nonconformingmaterial .As a minimum, the MRB shall include the chairman and a representativeof.the r product design.0 61
