EXECUTIVE SUMMARYAt the six-month mark, the USAID Global HealthSupply Chain-Procurement and SupplyManagement team is pleased to report asuccessful transition period with most milestonesachieved and few issues of concern. During thisperiod, the team has moved from officiallylaunching the project and opening our CrystalCity headquarters in January and February toplacing our first procurement order and makingour first delivery while also preparing to open 12country offices by July 1 – within three months ofinitial scoping activities.Achieving so much in such a short time hasrequired sustained focus, effort, collaboration,and communication among partners, incumbents,the USAID team, and the project’s many talentedstaff. Consultative systems and tools such as theTransition Plan, Transition Working Groups, andCommodity Councils proved indispensable tobringing key stakeholders together and helpingthe team achieve the project’s ambitious targetsand goals.USAID Global Health SupplyChain – Procurement andSupply ManagementThe USAID Global Health SupplyChain program includes sixprojects aimed to strengthenhealth supply chain systems.The Procurement and SupplyManagement project specificallyprovides commodity procurementand logistics services, strengthenssupply chain systems, andpromotes global collaboration.With operations in Africa, Asia, LatinAmerica, and the Caribbean, theproject supports the U.S. President’sEmergency Plan for AIDS Relief(PEPFAR), as well as the President’sMalaria Initiative (PMI) and USAID’sfamily planning and reproductivehealth programs.This report serves as both the Semi-Annual andsecond Quarterly reports, summarizing projectactivities and outcomes for Year 1, Quarter 2,April 1 to June 30, 2016.
