BITModel 2.0Take a deeper lookBIT - Borehole Inclination TesterAll piling specifications prescribe the allowabledeviation of the pile axis from the vertical. Typicallimits vary between 1.33% (UK ICE) and 2% (US FHWA).In diaphragm and secant pile walls, the specificationis typically more restrictive.Unlike traditional systems, BIT uses the auger/bucketitself as a centralizer, thus eliminating the need for abulky system. The BIT enables fast and accuratedetermination of inclination in both dry and wetboreholes, vertical or raked.BIT is compliant with the ASTM D8232-18 standard.Large boreholes and diaphragm-walls may bequickly tested several times during drilling to enablereal-time corrective action. Operation in a BorholeFinished pile inclination can be measured throughthe CSL access tubes. The descent is stopped at predetermineddepths for inclination reading and the deviationcalculated in real time by integrating the inclinationover depth. When pulling the bucket upwards to thesurface, the procedure is repeated.
