GLOSSARY & DEFINITIONS(GD)GD.1In the Grid Code the following words and expressions shall, unless the subject matter orcontext otherwise requires or is inconsistent therewith, bear the following meanings:Access GroupA group of Connection Points within which a User declares under thePlanning Code(a)An interconnection and/or(b)A need to redistribute Demand between those Connection Pointseither pre-fault or post-faultWhere a single Connection Point does not form part of an AccessGroup in accordance with the above, that single Connection Point shallbe considered to be an Access Group in its own right.Access PeriodA period of time in respect of which each Transmission InterfaceCircuit is to be assessed as whether or not it is capable of beingmaintained as derived in accordance with PC.A.4.1.4. Black Start CapabilityAn ability in respect of a Black Start Station, for at least one of itsGensets to Start-Up from Shutdown and to energise a part of theSystem and be Synchronised to the System upon instruction fromNGET, within two hours, without an external electrical power supply.Black Start StationsPower Stations which are registered, pursuant to the BilateralAgreement with a User, as having a Black Start Capability.Black Start TestA Black Start Test carried out by a Generator with a Black StartStation, on the instructions of NGET, in order to demonstrate that aBlack Start Station has a Black Start Capability.Block Load CapabilityThe incremental Active Power steps, from no load to Rated MW, whicha generator can instantaneously supply without causing it to trip or gooutside the Frequency range of 47.5 – 52Hz (or an otherwise agreedFrequency range). The time between each incremental step shall alsobe provided.BM ParticipantA person who is responsible for and controls one or more BM Units orwhere a Bilateral Agreement specifies that a User is required to betreated as a BM Participant for the purposes of the Grid Code.
