Senior SchoolInterhouse Events2020 quoted as ‘the worstyear ever’ has brought inwithitmanyunprecedented events, butthis couldn’t stop thestudents of NPS KRMfrom conducting andcompetingintheinterhouse events of theacademic year 2020-21.NPS Koramangala seniorwing vied for top positionsin assorted events whichwere conducted in the pastmonth.Despite the huge physicalto virtual shift, the StudentCouncil proceeded withthe events flawlessly andthe students showed fullparticipation, not lettingthecurrentscenariobecome a hindrance tothem.TheDramaClubconducted the ntsportrayed their theatricalskills.This year, the Eco Clubcameupwithaninnovativeideaofconnecting ionskills.Each team was given anendangered species for atopic, and they had todesignaleafletsurrounding the animal, aSpotify playlist supportingthe topic, along with a 6-7minute podcast to d species. Allparticipants excelled in theevent and showcased thetrue podcasters withinthem!In the event ‘A ClassicTwist’, the participantshad to recreate a moviescene if it took place in theongoingpandemic.‘Ataraxis’ event by ArtCluballowedtheparticipants to unleashtheir creative side bypreparing an abstract artpiece representing whatthey feel about inner peaceor music.The Literary Quiz eventtested the partipants’knowledge of authors,tongue twisters, riddlesand more while the RapBattleallowedparticipants from eachhouse to compose andperform a rap based on acartoon character (HomerSimpson, Sponge Bob,Peppa Pig, Garfield).TheCyberClubconducted the ‘Coding’and ‘Gaming’ event wherethe teams battled it outRound Robin style onKrunker.The Online Quiz eventwasaveryclosecompetition with marginalpoint differences.The Science and MathClubs worked together to6organize the InterhouseMurder Mystery event.Teams of four from everyhouse had an hour and ahalf to solve clues andpuzzles based on logic,math and science todiscover the murderers ofan eminent scientist, andsafeguard his research.For the Dance event, eachhouse was given a famouspersonality that the worldlost in 2020.Teams were required todepict their life andachievements through ashort dance video. Theexemplarydanceperformances mesmerizedthe audience.TheMusicClubconducted the IndianClassical Music event,where the participantswere judged on their pitchand technique.This year, in addition to allthe other events we had aninterhouse boveandbeyondeveryone’s expectationswithspectacularphotographs.STAND-UP COMEDY:1. Interhouse MUN:The Interhouse MUN wasconducted on 31st October2020 and had threecommittees – the Cabinetof Magical Affairs, theWorldHealthOrganisation and SecurityCouncil.Delegates had to take upthe mantles of theirrespectiveNations/Fictionalcharacters and representthem with as much dignityandauthenticityaspossible - presentingarguments on their behalf,promoting their interestsand ultimately reachingpeaceful resolutions. te arguments andinnovative solutions.The delegates’ composureduring press sessions,their ability to think ontheir feet and theirresponse to global crisesdecided the ultimatewinners.First Place - PioneersSecondPlaceChallengers-players faced off in a timecontrolled game of 10minutes and no increment.In the sports quiz, eachparticipant had to answer aset of questions with thehelp of their generalknowledge of varioussports. Itis inspired from Googlestime project- GeniusHour. The idea is to directstudentstoresearchregularly for a fixed timeon a topic of their choice.The objective is to buildthe students researchprowess and unleash theirpassion.The idea was shared withthe students through apresentation. The 5 stepsinvolvingi) Explore one’s passionii) Propose a topic, aftercareful thoughtiii) Research on the giventopiciv) Create a 3minutevideo on the topic chosenv) Present the video infront of an audience andanswer queriesThe students are guidedthrough some steps toresearch, keeping in mindthe first-time researchers.For example, skimmingand scanning informationby going through differentsearchenginesandchecking the authenticityof the information andtakingdownnotes.(Plagiarism to be avoidedat all costs). Skills thatwould help them in thefuture.The students are keepingtrack of the researchregularly in a journal,enabling them to takeownershipoftheirlearning,movesystematically, ensuringconstant learning andengagement. At the end ofthe learning, a researchpaper will be submittedalong with a video.Ms. Aparna Dinesh ledstudentsthroughanactivity to identify theirarea of interest and narrowit down. This activityinvolved listing activitiesthey follow closely andlinking it with theirstrengths.Several questions were putforth to check out andselect the topic to bechosen for research.A subject expert to beidentified, to help thelearners and give apersonal touch in thevirtual world.A timeline was shared tohelp in planning theprogress of Khoj anExpedition, so learnerscould be guided through10it. During the presentationby teachers, childrendiscussed the problemsthey could face andbrought forth suitablesolutions.A feedback was collectedfrom the children after theKhoj presentation. Itrevealed that childrenwere excited to work ontheir passions and theactivitiesconducted,helped in choosing theirtopic.Gr7-9 is all set researchingon their chosen topic, afterhaving given the proposalto their Class teachers andAssociate teacher.They will work on theirproject in December andcreate the short video. Thevideo and research paperwill be submitted inJanuary 2021.Set of videos will bepresented to an audiencein February.Quintana 2020TheEntrepreneurshipProject was introduced inour school by ourDirector, Dr. Bindu Harinine years ago, and withevery passing year wehave witnessed morecreative, inspiring andinnovativeproducts.Every year the students ofGrade 6, work with greatenergy and zeal to makethe Market Day a bigsuccess.

This year we have put aslight twist to our same oldMarket Day.The students will not bemaking the products butinstead will think of aunique and innovativeproduct, make a businesspitch presentation on theproduct and then pitchtheir idea.There will also be aknowledgeable and skilfulMentor from Grade 11allotted to every group tohandhold the projectsinitiated by the Grade 6students.The students of grade 6will think of a product, agroup of selected teacherswill look into the ideas andput the students in groups,make a presentation usingany tech tool, practice thelines/Prepare for the Pitch,advertise the product withthehelpofavideo/poster/pamphlet etcand lastly, pitch theproduct before the judgesin the month of February.As young entrepreneurs,the students will not onlyhone the techniques ofmodern business but alsoput to use their naturaltalents in different fieldssuch as -mathematicalskill,languageskill,technological skill andteamwork skill.At the end of the game, thestudents will gain somevaluable experience instarting, managing andgrowing a successfulbusiness venture.Constitution DayConstitution Day wascelebratedon26thNovember 2020. Amongthe 10 Unstoppable Young11Leader was our studentRiya Nagar from grade10.18th to 26th September wascelebrated as the GlobalGoals Week in line withthe UN General Assemblymeeting.A series of exciting Liveevents were lined up forthe students as part of theweek to #ACT4SDGsshowcasing the youngleaders who were actingon the SDGs.The live chats of the weekfocused on Climate ActionrelatedtopicslikeResponsibleConsumption, Future ofFood, Water Safety andFuture of Fashion.
