LQuick OverviewOverhead ConsoleSetting a Driving PositionIt is advisable to first move the driver’sseat to the correct position in relation tothe pedals, gear selector and the frontand side vision before adjusting thesteering column, mirrors and seat belt.Seat Adjustment1. Rear sunblind.1. Adjusts the seat fore and aft positionand cushion height and front tilt.2. Front and rear park distance control.3. Sunroof.2. Adjusts the seat cushion extension (iffitted).4. Garage door opener.5. Reading/map lights.3. Controls the lumbar support in thelower backrest.6. Front and rear courtesy lights.4. RQuick OverviewSteering Column AdjustmentPedal Adjustment(Where fitted)Rotate the switch on the left-hand side ofthe steering column to COLUMN (orAUTO) and move the switch to adjust thesteering column until a comfortableposition is obtained.For entry/exit mode rotate the switch toAUTO. This will not activate if PEDALS orCOLUMN is selected.For full details on how to adjust thesteering column, see page 81.Select PEDALS and move the switch foreand aft until a comfortable position isobtained.Note: Any adjustment to the pedals isinhibited when cruise control is activated.For information on pedal adjustment, seepage 83.11

LQuick OverviewDoor Mirror AdjustmentSetting Memory(Where fitted)1. Adjusts the exterior mirrors.2. Selects left or right-hand door mirror.Power foldback (Where fitted): Setbutton (2) to the centre position, brieflypress the rear of button (1). To return themirrors to their normal driving positionbriefly press the rear of button (1) again.For more information on door mirrors, seepage 86.Window Operation Adjust your seat, steering column andexterior mirrors to your preferredposition. Press MEMORY (A) and the redtell-tale will illuminate for 5 seconds. Press either 1 or 2 to store into thedesired memory location while theLED is illuminated. A shortacceptance tone is given.Exterior Lights - Autolamps1. Opens/closes front windows.For AUTOLAMPS function rotate therotary collar (1) to AUTO (2).2. Opens/closes rear windows.3. RQuick OverviewOccupancy SensingParkbrakeTo apply parkbrake: Pull the parkbrakeswitch up and release. The warning lightin the instrument cluster will illuminate.The front passenger seat is equipped witha sensor that determines the occupancystatus by measuring the weight on thecushion and changes the passengerairbag deployment status.An indicator light is located on thepassenger fascia and illuminates asymbol denoting passenger airbagdeactivation. Seat with low weight occupant/object- airbag deactivated - indicator lightON. Seat with heavy occupant/object airbag activated - indicator light OFF. * Seat completely empty - airbagdeactivated - indicator light OFF.To release parkbrake: The ignitionswitch must be in position ‘II’, apply thefootbrake and push the parkbrake switchdown.Note: The parkbrake automaticallyapplies when the ignition key is removed.* It is possible to receive anintermittent indicator light with anempty seat condition. This is part ofthe system adaptive behaviour anddoes not affect the status of thepassenger airbag deployment.Auto transmissionThe parkbrake is automatically releasedwhen the gear selector is moved from ‘P’or by pressing the accelerator pedal whenin gear.However, if the indicator lightbecomes permanently illuminatedwhen the seat is definitely empty, thenconsult your nearest Jaguar Dealer/Authorised Repairer immediately.Manual transmissionThe parkbrake is only released via theparkbrake switch or by driving the vehicleaway with the accelerator depressed.For full operating details, see page 132.13

Intermittent delay collar - rotate tovary the wipe delay and AUTO (rainsensitive wiper operation).To resetPress and hold the RESET button forthree seconds.Note: If the wipers are switched on inAUTO for more than 20 seconds andAUTOLAMPS has been selected, then theexterior lights will be switched on.To displayPress the TRIP button on the end of theleft column stalk switch to cycle throughthe display data.Caution: Ensure that AUTO is notselected when entering a car wash ordamage to the wiper blades/arms canoccur.Note: Messages can be hidden by onepress of the RESET button.Flick wipe - pull towards the steeringwheel.Wash/wipe - push the button on the endof the column switch.For full details on how to operate thewipers/washers, see page 130.14

RQuick OverviewClimate ControlIt is normal for puddles of liquid to occurunder the vehicle, particularly inhot/humid conditions.1. Push for system ON/OFF, rotate formanual blower speed.2. Air conditioning.For full details of climate control, see page159.3. Automatic operation.4. Heated rear screen.5. Heated front screen (if fitted).6. Defrost.For optimum comfort and systemoperation: Optimum temperature control andcomfort is achieved by selectingAUTO. Operate with A/C on throughout theyear to reduce the risk of misting. A/C operates automatically in DEFand partial screen modes to maximisescreen clearance. A/C cannot beswitched off in DEF. Recirculation is automaticallycancelled in DEF and in partial screenmodes as it contributes to misting.Recirculation cannot be selected inDEF.15

RFilling Station InformationFilling Station InformationFuel TypeFuel FillingPetrol models - Unleaded 95 RON.Diesel models - Diesel fuel to EN 590 orequivalent.Caution: DIESEL ENGINES - If youinadvertently fill your vehicle withpetrol instead of diesel, do not attemptto start the engine.Contact your Jaguar Dealer/Authorised Repairer immediately.Attempting to start the engine withpetrol in the fuel tank will causeextensive damage to the engine andfuel system, which will not be coveredby your Jaguar warranty.Jaguar can accept no responsibility forany damage caused by running yourvehicle with petrol or vegetable oil inthe fuel tank.Press the fuel filler flap release. This islocated on the driver’s knee bolsterswitch below the fascia, see page 151.Diesel engines only: Driver’s shouldexpect above normal fuel consumptionwhen the engine is new and ‘bedding-in’.After a period, the fuel comsumption willgradually improve to expected fuelconsumption levels.Caution: Do not use RME (bio-diesel)except in the case of proprietary dieselfuels which contain a mix of up to 5%.The filler flap is located on the right-handside of the vehicle.Note: Vehicles with a diesel engine have ayellow filler cap.For quickness and to completely fill thetank, ensure that the fuel nozzle rests onthe bottom of the filler neck.Incorrect closure of the fuel filler cap mayresult in check engine light (malfunctionindicator light) illuminating.After refuelling, refit the fuel filler cap inthe filler neck, twist the filler capclockwise until it clicks and close the flap,which automatically locks shut.17
