NB-263, RCI-1 2019NB-263, RCI-1, RULES FOR COMMISSIONED INSPECTORS (RCI-1)In 2018, the National Board published the 2019 Edition of NB-263, RCI-1, Rules for CommissionedInspectors. The standard will become effective January 1, 2019. The new changes may beimplemented any time prior, but will become mandatory July 1, 2019.A new edition of RCI-1 is planned for every two years, with the next edition effective January 1, 2021.The Committee on Qualifications for Inspection is responsible for maintaining and revising RCI-1.This Committee meets regularly to consider revisions to existing requirements and to formulate newrequirements. Inquiries related to NB-263, RCI-1 may be submitted to the Committee by emailingsecretaryCQI@nationalboard.org.
