It takes place every two years in midFebruary and lasts four days. Dozens of Maori danceteams from all over New Zealand take part in the‘Kapa Haka’ competitions of the Festival.The dance groups spend up to twelve months beforethe event preparing for a winning 25-minuteperformance.
