The European Language Certificates with Flying Teachers The European Language Certificates are a system of linguistic examinations which follow theguidelines laid down by the European Conferencefor Language Learning. The examinations are offered in various European languages at all levels.The examinations test various language skills. Theexaminations are written according to publishedcriteria, are organised throughout Europe withuniform regulations, and the exam papers are centrally marked in line with identical criteria of assessment. Registration datesRegistration is possible up to six weeks before theexamination date.Examination centresThe location of the exam centre and the exam timesare given to the candidates one week before the examination takes place.Exam registration and paymentRegistrationThe exam registration forms are available from us,and are to be filled out, signed and returned to usby post or fax. You will receive the confirmation ofexamination and the corresponding paying-in slipapproximately six weeks before the examinationdate. We kindly ask you to pay the exam fee no lessthan 14 days before the examination.6Please note:An expression of interest by email is not anofficial registration!Withdrawal from the exam must be made inwriting. Up to 4 weeks before the examination, acancellation fee of CHF 120.– is levied. Candidateswho withdraw later than that are required to paythe entire exam fee.

Results and exam repetitionThe results are sent out 6 to 8 weeks after the examination.For exams at level A2 (Start Deutsch 2), candidatesreceive an official examination certificate uponachieving marks of at least 60% in the written andoral papers.In the event of the candidate not passing the exam,it can be repeated within one year (the whole examhas to be retaken).Successful candidates at B1, B2 and C1 levels receive a certificate indicating marks and a detailedassessment.Candidates have passed the exams when theyachieve a result of at least 60% in both examination parts. Each part of the exam, whether thewritten or oral sections, can be retaken within aperiod of one year.Should the client only repeat part of the examination, the copy of the certificate, indicating theparts of the examination passed, is to be submitted, along with the field “only written” or “onlyoral” indicated on the application form. Reducedcharges are levied for partial examinations –please contact our offices for further information.7
