Covering the Events thatShape the NationC-SPAN was launched in 1979 to provide live, gavel-to-gavelcoverage of the U.S. House of Representatives. C-SPAN2was created in 1986 to provide live, gavel-to-gavel coverageof the U.S. Senate. C-SPAN3, launched in 2001, providesanother choice in public affairs programming. All threenetworks are available in HD.With headquarters in Washington, D.C., C-SPAN employsmore than 250 people who work to fulfill cable’scommitment to public affairs programming.
