Since 8/09INTRODUCTIONAbout This MachineCapabilitiesFeaturesThis metal cutting bandsaw uses a gravity-fedblade to make straight cuts through workpiecesthat are clamped in a vise. Since the workpiece issecured and remains stationary while the bladefeeds automatically, accuracy and operator safetyare maximized.In addition to its capabilities, the Model SB1017has several features to increase versatility andefficiency.The vise on the Model SB1017 is capable ofholding rectangular stock up to 5" x 6" and roundstock up to 5".After a cut is complete, the OFF switch istriggered and the motor automatically turns off.The vise can be rotated to perform angled cuts upto 45 while three blade speeds ensure that theproper cutting rate is available for a variety ofworkpiece sizes and materials.Both the downfeed rate and pressure areadjustable for fine-tuning each cutting operationand an adjustable auto-OFF power switchmaximizes safety and minimizes energy use byturning the machine off at the end of every cut.A storage compartment in the cabinet baseprovides a convenient location for keeping spareblades or other accessories and the transporthandle makes moving the machine easy.Finally, the cast-aluminum knobs and belt coverproudly bear the legendary South Bend name.-2-
