My Dear Patricians,As we approach the sunset of the YEAR OFACCOMPLISHMENT,let us celebrate and behappy and content for the year it has been;for the multiple graces and favours we havereceived from God Almighty; for the successesthat we have attained and for the goals that wehave achieved. This successful venture wouldnot have been possible without the combinedefforts of each and every one of you whohave contributed in every way, whether big orsmall, to make the Year of Accomplishment avery fulfilling one.During this year,the 10th Birthday ofthe inception St.Patrick’s Academy,weremembered with gratitude the ten gloriousyears that the school has traversed, theachievements, the challenges, the successesthat were set for us to follow. We paid homageto our pioneers who strived tirelessly to createan edifice that we are so proud of today - thecynosure of all eyes. As Patricians,we can baskgleefully in the glory that is ours, passed onby those who have gone before us somethingthat we will preserve for posterity and carryforth to greater heights in the future.Walt Disney once said ‘you can dream, create,design and build the most wonderful idea inthe world, but it requires people to make thedream reality’.This is certainly the case inSt.Patrick’s Academy. The reality is that thelearning experiences and projects that havetaken place this year could not have happenedwithout a great deal of commitment andsupport from you all.Our school is highly regarded internally andexternally and it always makes me proud tohear consistently positive feedback fromvisitors from all walks of life.The Year ofAccomplishment has been a year of positivechange, growth and development for us andone change I am personally very proud of isthe huge improvements we have achievedin the connectedness between all groupsassociated with the school.Our school is fullof awesome students who arrive each dayready, willing and able to learn together.Today as the name and fame of the schoolreverberates across all corners of the stateand country,let us renew and rejuvenate ourefforts and continue to work even harderto sustain our rich heritage.We are morethan happy for the many firsts we haveaccomplished across the various activitiesof the school in the year 2014-15, be itacademic, cultural, sports and extracurricularactivities. Spurred on by the successes andinnovations of the past 10 years, and theinspirations of our pioneers, there can beno challenge, no obstacle, which we willnot strive to conquer in our future quest toattain the pinnacles of glory that was thevision and mission of our founding fathers.For the first time this year, 106 studentsin the ICSE and 41 students in the ISCclasses are taking the Board Examination –a clear sign of better things to come in thefuture. Our prayers and good wishes gowith them, even as they are busy with theirexaminations, so that they will accomplishglory and graduate with flying colours. It isindeed heartening to know, that each one ofyou has chosen to pray for every one of ourstudents appearing for the examinations sothat they accomplish the goals they have setfor themselves.This year, several innovative programmeswere put in place especially in the DanielDelany Block to enhance the quality ofinstruction and assistthe tiny-tots achieveexcellence in their quest for perfection.So too in the Main School the wide arrayof activities have motivated the studentsto achieve greater heights and relish thesuccesses they have achieved inIMPORTANT DATES MAY - JUNEthe Cultural Arena, the Sportsfield and in Academics as a whole.The Tenth Mega Annual Day, thespecial highlight of the year, wasReport Card Day 28th Marcha resounding success for all of us,( 8.00 a.m to 11.00 a.m )drawing accolades from near andSpecial Classes 4th May (IX, X & XII)far. Remaining awash inthe light, the campus had been trained to the platform for the studentsto exhibit their cultural exuberance.The mega decennial celebrations held in the school on 10thJanuary, 2015, was a novel concept executed by the school withaplomb. It saw the active participation of its entire strength of about1050 participants and 160 volunteers with about 6000 spectatorslooking on.The five hour long cultural extravaganza had on display theentire panorama of the 10 glorious years of the school from GratitudeGrand inauguration of the decennial year-lighting the lampby Dr.M.C.Dileepkumar.Theme Dancers-Filled with gratitudeThe sweet shepherd dancers2005-2006 to Accomplishment 2014-2015.Mr. Dileep Kumar, the ViceChancellor of Sree Sankaracharya University ofSanskrit, graced the occasion with his augustpresence and inspiring words.The Guests of Honour,playback singer Ranjini Jose and cine artistSajan Palluruthy were both wonderstruckat the exquisite performance witnessed andhailed the school authorities and volunteersfor organizing an event of such magnitude.ThePrincipal,Bro.Christopher Dawes, presented the AnnualReport which enumerated the variousactivities- academic, curricular, co-curricular,extra curricular, arts, sports and outreachprogrammes taken up by the Patricians as partof the educational scheme.The cultural extravaganzahighlighted the ten glowing years of our school,depicted by the life of four great personalitiesof world history – Bishop Daniel Delany,St.Patrick, Walt Disney and King Asoka . They left the judgesbewildered with their accent and content. TheUKG craft show was also commendable.As the final leg of the academicsession progressed, it was heart- warming tosee, how in each class assembly, students putup wonderful shows to convey their gratitudeto teachers.It was also another feather on thecap for the DDB, when Leon Paul of ClassIII secured the state fourth rank in NTSEExamination.We had a dental check up forthe students of LKG to Class III on Feb7th. The Planetarium show was excitingfor the children. Tableau and speech by children reallycould evoke all the feelings in the mindsspectators.Foundation DaySt. Patrick’s Academy, Angamaly celebrated Foundation Day on February 2nd. Thevaluable and selfless service rendered by Patrician Brothers is fondly remembered inthis day. Patricians were attired in the Decennial T-shirt to accord a warm welcometo our Principal Bro. Christopher Dawes, Vice Principal, Bro.Earnest Martin andCommunity Leader, Bro. Abraham Variath. Students felicitated the brothers andhonoured them with Ponnada. A wonderful visual treat was given to them andlater they cut the cake to spread their joy and love. Our Sen. Coordinator, Ms. AncyAntony displayed a very informative presentation on the life history of Bp. DanielDelany and the Patrician Brothers.Thank you Dear BrothersGratitude is overflowing in each and every corner of SPA. Themonth of March was truly displayed all the emotions of Patricians . Patricians dedicated the month of March to voice their love and gratitudeto the Brothers, Management and Teachers through assemblies inculcating skits, songs, speeches etc.It is hard for us to close our mouths without expressing ourlove. The workshop was truly marvelousand surprising for it transformed our children intoscientists of the future. The workshop was truly agreat venture which helped to identify the scientifictemper of mind in SPA students and it really firedtheir brains to make surprising working models likemachines to detect the drunkard drivers and to stopthe vehicle, smart kitchen which immediately sensesthe presence of any gas and automatically switcheson the exhaust fan , the machine to clean the floor,vehicles which gave alarm to fire station, policestation and hospital once an accident occurs.PRAYER SERVICE Batches of AccomplishmentWe, the board batches ofClasses X and XII are truly fortunateand blessed to be part of thepatrician family. A prayer service wasoffered for Class XII on February4th and for Class X on February7th in the presence of our lovingteachers and parents. It was truly adivine experience, a platform for usto offer our soul and heart to Godand all our well wishers throughprayers. Readings from the holybooks and the lighted candles thatwe received from Bro. Christopher,Bro. Abraham and Ms. Ancy, reallystirred our hearts. Our teachers, withstretched hands, blessed and prayedfor us and it was indeed a momentwhen we lifted our hearts to God. Ourhearts overwhelmed with the loveand gratitude to our dear parents andteachers. The spiritual strength thatwe received through these prayersis enough to endure and face allthe challenges and obstacles thatwe come across. On behalf of thePatricians I would like to thank ourdear Principal Bro. Christopher Dawes, VicePrincipal, Bro. Earnest Martin and CommunityLeader, Bro.
