Usinga unique technology, the Air Knight IPG system uses UV light energy toilluminate a quint-metallic core to produce ionic oxidizers that seek outand attack indoor pollutants. INSTALLATION (Tools & Requirements)RECOMMENDED INSTALLATION TOOLS 4” Hole Saw (metal specific recommended) Drill/Power Driver Phillips Screwdriver 3/8” Drill Bit (for fiberglass ductwork) 1/4” Nut Driver BitYOU MAY ALSO NEED: Utility Knife or Duct Knife Tin Snips (for metal ductwork)INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS1.Unit should be installed in the supply side air stream of the HVAC system.2.An approximate 4” (8.89 cm) opening will need to be cut into theexisting duct work to install the unit properly.Airflow OrientationBe sure to orient the unit for proper airflow throughthe IPG core in either horizontal or vertical air flowsystems. Air should be able to freely flow through theIPG core as shown.It is recommended that the Fan Setting on yourthermostat be set to ON to ensure continuous airflow through the IPG core.REMOVE AIRFLOW TAG BEFORE INSTALLATIONHardwiring RequirementsConnect black and white wires to a dedicated 40Va transformer.Electrical wiring of the unit to the HVAC system should be done by alicensed HVAC installer or electrical contractor.5
INSTALLATION (Metal Ductwork)STEP1Locate a suitable area of the supplyside duct before the first branch forinstallation, near a power source.Cut away insulation to expose metalduct. MAINTENANCEMAINTENANCE/UV LAMP INDICATORFor optimal performace, replace the IPG Core w/UVLamp every 2 years and the UV lamp every 2 years,even if the UV lamp appears to be operating normally.The UV lamp operation indicator on the face of the unitwill glow when the UV lamp is in use. If the indicatordoes not glow and the unit has power, the IPG Coreshould be replaced.The ionization system should be inspected annually.Any buildup of dust should be wiped clean on theexterior and compressed air used to remove dustaccumulated underneath the shroud and around theionization system, if necessary.DISPOSAL OF THE IPG CORE AND UV LAMPDO NOT THROW YOUR IPG CORE IN THE TRASH.Dispose of the spent IPG Core and UV lamp at yourlocal recycling center. Dust Free warrants to the originalpurchaser that the IPG Core shall be free from defect in material and workmanship under normal use andservice, for a period of four (4) years from the date of original purchase. Dust Free warrants to the originalpurchaser that the UV Lamp shall be free from defect in material and workmanship under normal use andservice, for a period of two (2) years from the date of original purchase. Dust Free’s obligation under thiswarranty shall be limited to repair or replacement of those goods which prove defective, provided thatsuch products are installed, maintained, and operated for the purpose and in the manner intended and forwhich Dust Free instructs or recommends.
