DEFINITIONSRegular Full-Time EmployeeRegular Full-Time Employee shall mean a person employed by the City in a full-time capacity,who has successfully completed a probationary period, and has been retained according to theprovisions of the Personnel Rules and Regulations.Regular Part-Time EmployeeRegular Part-Time Employee shall mean a person employed in a regularly budgeted class orposition which a regular employee may be appointed, and whose normal work schedule is lessthan the standard hours of work, but at least twenty (20) hours per workweek.Newly Hired EmployeeNewly Hired Employee shall mean a person who has not completed a probationary period in anyposition within the organization or a person who has previously completed a probationary period,but has had more than a three (3) month break in service from the City.Probationary EmployeeProbationary Employee shall mean an employee working a test period during which he or she isrequired to demonstrate his or her fitness to perform the duties of the class of position to whichhe or she is appointed by actual performance of those duties.Immediate FamilyImmediate Family of an employee shall include his or her spouse and the following relatives:children of either spouse, step-children, parent of employee or spouse, brother or sister, halfbrother or half-sister, either grandparent and grandchildren.Appointing AuthorityAppointing Authority shall mean the City Manager or his/her designee.Temporary EmployeeTemporary Employee shall mean any person appointed to a temporary position or temporarilyappointed to a permanent position. Temporary position means an authorized position budgetedor established for a designated period of time or an hourly, daily, weekly, or seasonal basis. Atemporary employee shall not work more than nine hundred ninety-nine (999) hours per fiscalyear, including overtime work. The American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) Relief Fund provides support and temporary financial assistance to members who are in need.
