St. Catherine’s High School(founded 1909)May 2018Study list for all subjects: Junior 4Parents are to note the following lists for study for the upcomingassessment exams (15th to 21st June 2018). Parents are encouraged tostart the revision with their children following the lists hereunder.Students will be assessed in Maths (on 15th June, 1 written paper of 1 ½hours), English (on 21st June, 2 written papers of 1 ½ hours each, and aListening Comprehension and an Oral assessment), Maltese/Spanish (on19th June, 2 written papers of 1 ½ hours each with a ListeningComprehension and Oral assessment) and Science on 18th June, 1 writtenpaper of 1 ½ hours).The Listening Comprehensions will be held prior to the written exam week.The dates for these components will be given later.We trust that this assessment time will be a time for us all to check ourstudents’ progress, their difficulties and their next steps in theireducational journey.Ms Marguerite AgiusJunior School Director

Listening for comprehension: A passage of 2-4 paragraphs may be38-39read out to the child and questions may be asked orally about the text tocheck understanding. Exam questions for the listening comprehension willbe either multiple choice, true or false or questions requiring a shortanswer.

Reading for comprehension: Children can read a page from theirreading books and a family member can assign 2 written questions aboutthat page to check understanding of the text. Writing: Narrative or descriptive, 100-120 words, written in pen inneat and clear writing and a rough plan should be included.
