Valosky, Jr.In this Sunday’s Gospel, we hear that Jesus’ fame spreadthroughout all of Galilee. People were astonished at what hesaid and amazed at what he did. Jesus’ actions demonstratedthe power and authority of his words. This is whatimpressed the people who saw Jesus heal the man with theunclean spirit. In his words and in his deeds, Jesus showedthe power and authority of God.Those who follow Jesus are also called to demonstrateGod’s power and authority by their words and actions.Whom can you name as examples of people whodemonstrate their faith in God by their words and deeds? These are people we want to know more about so that wecan follow their example. In addition, we also want to bepeople who demonstrate our faith in God by what we sayand do.At Saint Patrick School, we could not continue the missionof Jesus Christ – the mission of demonstrating God’s powerand authority – without the actions – the commitment - ofSaint Patrick Parish. Your dedication allows us to bring theWord of God to our students each and every day, which, especially in this COVID year, has been a blessing since wehave been able to be in school every day since the end ofAugust.During this Catholic Schools Week we celebrate educatingyoung Christian men and women who will lead our churchand nation, we celebrate our 2nd Blue Ribbon Award forAcademic Excellence, we celebrate our Middle States ReAccreditation, we celebrate our dedication to inclusion andwelcoming all students who desire a Catholic education, andwe look forward to the beginning of our STEM innovationlab and our greenhouse learning center for the ’21-’22 schoolyear.Thank you, Saint Patrick Parish, for supporting us in ourefforts to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with ourstudents. We hope that we continue to make you proud.Go Warriors!Patricia O’Donnell, Principal

ST. PATRICK PARISH4TH SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIMEFEBRUARY 07, 2021The season of Lent is a time for us to grow closer to Jesus. It is atime when we are invited to delve more deeply into this love thatGod has for us. To facilitate that growing closer to Jesus, we oftenchoose to “give up” or “sacrifice” something during the 40 days ofLent. However, this year, rather than looking for something to“give up” or to “sacrifice”, why not try something different – whynot go on retreat? Not a retreat where you need to go to a retreatcenter, remain in silence for days or to listen to spiritualpresentations. No, this retreat will be one that takes place in theheart – a retreat in which you will “give up” or “sacrifice” a fewhours each week, in your own space, on your own schedule andspeak with the Lord. This Lent St. Patrick Parish will offer this retreat opportunity.Using “Abide in the Heart of Christ, a ten-day retreat with St.Ignatius of Loyola”, we will journey through Lent exploring andexperiencing the depth of God’s love for us.How will it work? Each participant: will receive the book, which is the guide for our reflection. The book has ten guides forreflection that will be followed – 2 per week. will sacrifice a few hours a week for prayer – conversation with the Lord. Preferably onehour a day to read the reflection pages and spend some time in private conversation withthe Lord. will keep a private journal of these conversations and what stirs the heart. will gather with others “on retreat” for an hour each Monday evening at 7PM in the church(beginning February 22nd). This time will offer an opportunity to pray together and toshare how the time of reflection has spoken to your heart. will attend a 45-minute preliminary meeting on Monday, February 15th – at which timeyou will receive the book for retreat. The cost for each participant is 10, which covers the cost of the book. You will be able to pay the 10at the preliminary meeting. For more information, or to register, please contact the parish office at 610-647-2345. A registrationlink is also included in our electronic bulletin sent out on Sunday Mornings.
