He does not just knowfacts, but thoughts and opinions. He knows the words we are goingto speak before we utter them.He knows the past, the presentand the future. Because of this,we can truly trust Himwith our future.

God Knows All About Us Week 2PPDr. BeakerYou will want to practice this a few timesto get the hang of doing it fast. The key isto mentally add the numbers quickly.Supplies Lab Glasses Lab CoatPPSecret to the trick: Each foot has numbersthat appear to be randomly scattered onthe foot. The number on each foot that isimportant to the person doing the trick isfirst number on the left, top side of thefoot. When you show the child the feet, one by one, the child will tell you if “his”number is on the foot. For the “yes” feet, mentally add the numbers that are first onthe foot. This will give you the numberthat he picked.(Sound of bubbling in the background. Awhistling sound begins. Beaker appears.)I wish I knew what is going wrong withmy experiment. All this bubbling andhissing and whistling going on in the testtubes and flasks. It is not supposed to dothat! I just wonder if Erlenmeyer added achemical when I wasn’t looking. I amgoing to have to investigate that theory.I need a volunteer for this experiment.Who would like to volunteer? (Choosea child to come up front)Speaking of knowing, I am running anexperiment today on omniscience. Isuppose you want to know what that bigword means.PPI need you to pick a number between 1and 60. Do you have the number inyour mind? Ok, now I need you towrite it down on this piece of paper andshow it to the audience without meseeing it. When you have shown thenumber, fold the paper and give it to afriend for safe keeping.Let me give you my best scientificdefinition. Omniscience means allknowing.(Sound like a rocket whistling through theair.)(After the child has followed yourinstructions, proceed on.)Oh, I don’t know what is going on in mylab. Excuse me, I have got to get thisexperiment under control. Erlenmeyer,Dynamo, I need you!I am going to show you some feet withnumbers on them. If your number ison a foot that I show you, let me know. Are you ready? (Go through each foot, mentally adding the first numbers on thecards that the child indicates holds hisnumber.)(Dr. Beaker exits in a panic.)Lab DemonstrationPPNow, I will tell you what the number is.Are you ready for this “great feat”?Your number is . Will the personholding the folded number pleaseunfold it for everyone to see?Magic FeetSupplies Magic feet (page 9-14) copied and cutout Piece of paper PencilDoes it seem possible that I could knowthe number you chose? (If you have2

Week 2 God Knows All About Ustime, you might try this trick once ortwice more.)I do not really have the power to knowthe number. There is a trick to it. OnlyGod could know that number withoutusing tricks. God knows everything. He does not have to use tricks to findout information. He knows everythingthere is to know, including ourthoughts. In fact, whenthought of his/her number, God knewthat guess. I certainly did not. I had todo a trick in order to figure it out. Ourmemory verse says, "The Lord searchesevery heart and understands everymotive behind the thoughts.”I Chronicles 28: 9b.(Tip: Do not tell the children the trick. Itis better to leave them with a little senseof wonder.)Impossible CountingSupplies Jar Jelly beans or other candyBefore doing the experiment, make surethat you count how many jelly beans arein the jar and write it down in a secretplace.Who thinks they know how many jellybeans are in this jar? (Show the jar.) Iam going to give everyone a chance toguess. During our lab experiment time,I will let you hold the jar and look at it.I will allow you to try to count them, but you cannot open the jar. Whoeverguesses the closest gets to take the jar ofjelly beans home with them.Do you think that God knows howmany jelly beans are in the jar? WhenI was pouring them into the jar, do youthink he counted them? Actually, Hejust automatically knew how many Ihad poured in. He did not have tocount them.Look at the person’s hair next to you.How many hairs do you think are onhis/her head? If I had you start tocount them, do you think you could?Did you know that the Bible tells usthat God even knows how many hairsare on our head?Matthew 10:30 says “And even the veryhairs of your head are all numbered”LabExperimentsPPExperiment 1 - Jelly Beans in a JarSupplies Jar of jelly beans from labdemonstration Small piece of paper for each child PencilsGive children time to estimate how manyjellybeans are in the jar. They shouldwrite their name and guess on a slip ofpaper. At the end of the lab time, lookthrough the guesses and award the closestanswer with the jar of candy.Experiment 2 - Growing CapsulesSupplies: Growing capsules (one per child orsmall group of children) Container Warm waterPlace the capsule in a clear container.Do you ever wonder what you will belike when you grow up? Did you know3

God Knows All About Us Week 2 Markerthat God has a plan for your life? Heknows all about you. All your thoughts, all your dreams, all the things that youare good at or enjoy doing are thingsthat He knows. On a piece of paper, mark a small X onthe right side. With the ruler, measure 5inches to the left of the X and make a dotthe size of a penny at this point. Hold thepaper up and close your right eye. Whilelooking at the X, move the paper left andright or closer and farther away. Keeplooking at the X. Even if you are lookingat the X, you should be able to see the dotout of the corner of your eye until youhave found your blind spot. At this point, the dot will seem to disappear.Pour the water over the capsule. Thecapsule will take approximately fiveminutes to grow to its full size. Go on toanother experiment and keep checkingback at the progress of the capsule. If you"play" with the growing animal, theprocess will go quicker.God knows what you will be like whenyou are grown. You can trust Him withyour life, because He knows all aboutyou.Even though you know the dot is still onthe paper, you cannot see it when youhit your blind spot. Is there ever a timewhen God knows that we are here butdoes not see us? (No, He always knowswhere we are and can see us.)Experiment 3 – FingerprintsSupplies White piece of paper for each child Ink pad Cleaning wipes Magnifying glassPPI Samuel 16:1-13David Anointed to be KingHave each child make a set offingerprints. To make a good fingerprint, have the child press his finger onto the inkpad and roll it to either side. Then, placethe finger on the white paper and roll itfrom one side to the other.Supplies NoneDavid wrote the following Psalm: “OLord, you have searched me and youknow me. You know when I sit andwhen I rise; you perceive my thoughtsfrom afar. You discern my going outand my lying down; you are familiarwith all my ways. Before a word is onmy tongue you know it completely, OLord.” Psalms 139:1-4After making the fingerprints, use amagnifying glass to examine the prints.Did you know that no two people in theworld have same fingerprint? And yet,if God saw a fingerprint, He would knowwho it belongs to.Experiment 4 – Blind SpotSupplies Ruler Piece of white paperBible StoryPP4Have you ever thought about what itmeans that God knows all about you?He knows all your actions and yourthoughts. He knows all the words youspeak. He knows all the places you go.Because He knows you inside and out,

Week 2 God Knows All About UsHe also knows what is best for you. Hehas a special plan for your life based onthe person He knows you to be and theperson that He knows you will become.Today, we are going to learn aboutDavid, the man who wrote many of thePsalms. He started out as a shepherdboy, taking care of his father’s sheep.God knew David and God had otherplans for him.The first king of Israel was King Saul.King Saul had not obeyed God, so Godhad rejected his kingship. God decidedthat He would have Samuel, theprophet, anoint someone else to be king.PPPPIf you were going to choose someone tobe king, what kind of person would youchoose? Think about it for a moment.Would the person be old or young?Would the person be tall or short?Would the person have a lot ofexperience ruling other people? Wouldthe person have a lot of education?God chose an unlikely person to be thenext king. He sent Samuel to the homeof Jesse, a man who had many sons.God told Samuel that one of these sonswould be anointed and He would lethim know which one. When Samuelsaw the first son, Eliab, he thought thatsurely this would be the one to beanointed. But the Lord told him, “Donot consider his appearance or hisheight, for I have rejected him. TheLord does not look at the things manlooks at. Man looks at the outwardappearance, but the Lord looks at theheart.” I Samuel 16:7. So Samuel wentto the next son, Abinadab, but the Lordpassed over him as he did Shammah. The Lord kept passing over sons untilHe had passed over seven of them.PPSamuel asked Jesse if these were all hissons. Jesse told him that there was onemore son, tending sheep in the field.Samuel had Jesse send for this youngestson.Who would think that this one could bethe one? The youngest of all thebrothers? Wouldn’t God choose anolder brother? One with moreexperience? The youngest son’s name was Davidand when Samuel saw him, the Lordtold him, “Arise and anoint him, he isthe one.”Samuel picked up the horn of oil andanointed David. And from then on theSpirit of the Lord was on David.God knows us inside and out. He knewDavid. God knew what kind of personHe needed to be king. It would bemany years before David wouldactually become king. In the meantime,God would start preparing him for thetask.PPPrayerThank God for knowing and loving eachchild in the room. Thank Him for thetrust we can put in Him since He knowsus so well.PPObject Lesson/Modern Day StorySupplies ShoeboxWhat is this that I am holding? (Ashoebox) Have any of you ever heard ofOperation Christmas Child?5

God Knows All About Us Week 2America needed a little girl. He madesure that the right box came to the rightlittle girl.It is a ministry that helps millions ofchildren around the world. Every yearbefore Christmas, people fill shoeboxeslike these with toys, combs, candy andother small items. Then, the shoeboxesare taken to a warehouse where theyare sorted and eventually put on anairplane to fly to another country.Once they arrive in the other country, the shoeboxes are distributed tochildren.I am going to tell you a story about oneshoebox and how it changed the life of alittle girl.In a country called Kazakhstan, a littlegirl lived in an orphanage. One day thepeople came to the orphanage to handout the Operation Christmas Childshoeboxes. When given the shoebox, the little girl was happy to have the boxbut said that what she really wantedwas a family. One of the caregivers atthe orphanage told her to pray forparents. When the little girl opened her shoebox, she discovered lots of wonderful giftsinside the box. She also found a pictureof a man and a woman along with acard. The little girl prayed just like hercaretaker had told her to do. Then, shewrote the couple, thanking them for thepresents and telling them of her prayerand how she needed parents. The couple, who had no children, wereso touched by the little girl’s letter thatthey made a trip to Kazakhstan to visither. Eventually, they adopted her andbrought her home with them toAmerica. The little girl’s prayer wasanswered and she now had a family.God knew that this little girl needed afamily. He knew all about her and herneeds. He also knew that the couple in6
