Andy Morris (AMo) from the Auditors (Daines) had taken thecommittee through the Audit Clearance memorandum 2019/20 and theTrustees Report and Financial Statement 31/08/20. Items discussed include: One assurance irregularity (defined as a “control weakness” by theAuditors) had been identified during the Audit as the monthly managementaccounts had not been produced in line with the handbook.AP12 – Management accounts to be sent monthly to EPa, PHe & AMiand to be reviewed at the following FGPUpdated Governor attendance records were not available on BHPSwebsite.Approval of a new policy to cover the management of fixed assets.iii.8Approval of Audited Accounts for FYE August 2020The committee had discussed the signing-off process for this year’s auditedaccounts. The audited accounts are available on Governorhub for allTrustees to read. EPa and SHa to sign off hard copy.The audited accounts were ratifiedSchool Updatea. Appointment of Acting Deputy HeadLorraine McDonald has been appointed as interim Deputy Headteacher (ona temporary termly contract) to help with leadership capacity. Lockdown arrangementsSHa gave a detailed breakdown of the challenges and actions that hadtaken place since school reopened following the Christmas holiday. Thedocuments titled ‘Allocation of places’ and ‘Revised Approach to SchoolOperations During National Lockdown’ were presented. TQTQThe school delivered training to staff on the INSET day.In light of changes, parents were re-surveyed and the schoolidentified 283 children eligible to attend under current guidance.183 children have attended on at least one of the days.The school cannot limit the number of children coming into school.Government guidance is for parents to keep children at home ifpossible.All teachers are teaching their normal classes but have been findingit increasingly difficult to support pupils in class and via remotelearning.LA have moved to discourage the recording of live lessons due tosafeguarding.SLT are proposing that lessons are pre-recorded away from theclassroom. This will provide proof for OFSTED as to the quality oflessons and their delivery. It will ensure that the same lesson isdelivered to each child, regardless of their location.SLT have begun to deliver training to staff on OneNote.SHa proposed that from 14/01 classes revert to year group bubbles,with approx. 20 children in each bubble. One teacher will deliverlessons to those pupils in school, the other will support homelearning pupils.How has this proposal been received by staff? The proposal was put to staff andthey feel this is more sustainable.How will pupil numbers be monitored? Parents will be asked to complete a returnon a Thursday indicating their child’s attendance for the coming week. Once pupilnumbers for a bubble reach 25, the option of splitting the bubble will be reviewed. Every class will participate in a live morning register session and a liveafternoon session where pupils will be encouraged to talk aboutthemselves and what they are up to.SLT have been contacting the parents of children who have not beenoffered a place to reassure them about the access to remote learning thatschool will be offering. The meeting discussed the importance ofmaintaining contact with those parents who are having to provide homelearning.Coming to Page 3 of 5

It was agreedthat these would be welcome before half term.AP13 – Well-being meetings to be scheduledTQHow are new staff members settling in? All 3 staff members have worked in theCOVID environment prior to joining the school and are settling in well at BHPS.TQDoes the school need any support from a strategic angle? Teachers will contactchildren if they have not received any work from them by Wednesday/Thursdayeach week to establish what difficulty they are having. This will help to identifyanyone additionally that does not have access to a device or the internet at home.8 children have been allocated places in school because they do not have access toa device. Home learning packs have been sent out to every child. It is now a statutory requirement for schools to publish details of theirremote learning provision. SHa is currently working on this document andit will be available on the school’s website when finalised.TQDoes the COVID risk assessment need re visiting in light of recent changes? YesData ReviewSHa took the committee through the data that was available prior to the meeting.Year 1 data is incorrect due to difficulties with Educator.TQWhat interventions are in place for YR5 Maths? Interventions were set up on theINSET day with TA’s but have been interrupted due to lockdown. They will be putin place where they can. The 3 part-time PPA teachers will be covering SEN athome. Pupil progress meetings will also commence shortly. A supply support teacher has been appointed for YR6 to support a 3rd class.They will provide a mixture of remote and school based interventions.ARE (age related expectation) shows % of children on track. showsgreater depth. Class 7 have 20% at expected therefore 80% are below.Pupil progress meetings will look at how to move these children on. Thisfigure should be high 70/80’s.TQYR3 data is low. How can this be explained? This is a transition year and there is atargeted plan for getting these pupils back on track.
