Probably the most comprehensive chain program in the worldIn this catalog you will find a wide range of quality products: The classic standard chains,as well as, innovative chains patented by uni-chains.We use both industry standard and special materials in steel and plastic. We can alsosupply the chains in special materials e.g. chemical resistant, antistatic, flameretardent etc., if needed.Slat Top Chains Steel (Page 16 - 24)uni steel chains prove their worth mainly in theindustries that use glass bottles, e.g. breweries, thewine industry and the soft drinks industry. They come in several variants like straightrunning, side-flexing, with or without tabs, asmagnet chains, and in the special uni Super Flexdesign.uni steel chains are strong and suitable forapplications running at high speed. Brokenglass will not affect the function of the chain. The uni Super Flex chains feature the unique, patented tab system which require no tools forinstallation. These chains run totally level incurves and will not vibrate. The noise level isconsiderably lower than normal tab chains.uni SS 881 TAB-K325Side flexingBeer bottles3 trackLubricant: Soapy wateruni SS 812 &uni SS 881 TABStraight runningBottle inspectionuni 820 K325Straight runningCan accumulationuni 880 TABSide flexingIn-feed for accumulationtable for cansSlat Top Chains Plastic (Page 25 - 37)uni plastic chains constitute a light-weight yetstrong and silent alternative to steel chains. These chains are used mainly in the food andpackaging industry for coveying of manykinds of containers. The uni Super Flex tracking system is also available for plastic chains, as are beveled and tabchains for straight-running, side-flexing andinclined conveyors. For special features, please refer to the descriptionof each individual chain type. uni plastic chainsare available with rubber inserts, please see page97 - 100.3

Special Chains Plastic (Page 38 - 48)Some of the uni Special chains are further developments of uni Slat Top Chains. The range includes safety chains that preventfingers and clothes from getting caught betweenthe links. Chains with low backline pressure andaccumulation rollers minimize product damage asdo the side flexing ribbed chains.uni 882 SC-TABSide flexingBoxesuni 880 RibSide flexingCansuni Grip 1873-G4Side flexinguni Grip 1873-DSide flexinguni 1700Side flexingCartonsuni 1701 TABSide flexingCartonsSnap-On Chains Plastic (Page 49 - 63)The Snap-On chains are designed with overlappingflights assembled on special roller chains withextended pins. This is an advantage especially athigh speeds, because it reduces the noise level. The Snap-On chains are very suitable for thefood processing industry. The roller chains are made in Germany.uni Flex Chains Plastic (Page 64 - 92)The flexibility of the uni Flex chains ensures agreat number of possibilities for applications invarious industries. Most of the uni Flex chainsare flexible in several directions and some ofthem can be used in very small curves withturn discs, which makes construction of verycompact conveyors possible. The uni Flex chains are suitable for conveying ofplastic bottles, cans and cartons in e.g dairies andbreweries, but also for conveying of crates andother large items.4

Multi Hinge Chains (Page 93 -96)Multi Hinge chains are the strongest chains in theuni-chains product range.Depending on the application Multi Hinge chainscan be supplied in PP and PE making them aneconomical alternative to the more costly POMsingle-hinge chains.uni SNB M2ATStraight runninguni SSBStraight runningMore than just chainsIf you need conveyor components other than chains and sprockets, we also offer one ofthe widest modular belt assortments and a comprehensive accessories program. If you want to know more about this, please contact us, and we will either send you ourspecial belt or accessories catalog or ask a sales representative to call on you for adiscussion of your specific requirements.www.unichains.com5

Material Properties SteelAustenitic Stainless SteelSS304Austenitic quality containing 18% chrome and 8% nickel.Werkstoff no. 1.4301AISI 30418/ CrNi steel is non-magnetic in the entire recommended temperature area. The austenitic quality has a very8high degree of corrosion resistance in oxidizing surroundings. In connection with evaporation of chloride-containing fluids, being evaporated the 18/8 CrNi steel is not recommended as stress corrosion can occur overtime.Pin material for chains made of this austenitic stainless steel: 18/8 CrNi steel, cold drawn to high hardness andstrength.Ferritic Stainless SteelSS430Ferritic quality containing 17.5% chrome.Werkstoff no. 1.4016AISI 430The ferritic quality has a high wearability and is economical where demands for corrosion resistance are not verystrong. The corrosion resistance of the ferritic quality is not as high as for the austenitic quality, but it does nothave a tendency to stress corrode in a chloride environment.Pin material for chains made of this ferritic stainless steel: 18/8 CrNi steel, cold drawn to high hardness andstrength.Special Hardened SteelS1045AISI 1045Special hardened steel with 0.45% carbon. The carbon steel has a hardness of 36-42 HRC.The products are through hardened.Pin material for chains made of this special hardened steel: 18/8 CrNi steel, cold drawn to high hardness andstrength.Note: Other grades can be supplied upon request. The SFLshoe ensures that the chain is always held totallyflat against the wearstrips in curves. Its designalso reduces vibrations. Therefore the problemsnormally associated with conveying unstablebottles and containers are minimized.Super Flex chains can be removed from thecarry wearstrips (straights and curves) withoutthe use of tools. Please note the R-type has a minimum turnradius of 200 mm (7.87 in.). This space-savingchain is often used with small diameter turndiscs with ball bearings.38.1 mm (1.50 in.)MaterialsSee page 13SS304See page 1375 mm (3 in.)See page 108See page 121HSee curve catalogW GJ QSee curve catalogRTRAVELSee curve catalogTPLESee page 1043.048 m 10 ftNo. of links/box: 00.87Q42.71.68J24.50.96T3.10.12SS430SS304S10452250 N (506 lbf)2250 N (506 lbf)4000 N (899 lbf)Items with bolded uni reference numbers are standard.Items with uni reference numbers in italic are available on a made-to-order basis.uni reference no.width Wweightmin. radius Rlb/ftmmin.SS304SS430S1045mmin.kg/muni 881 .253.02.022007.87uni 881 .02.0245717.99uni 881 3.72.4961024.02uni 881 5.53.7061024.0220
