CCPS Informational CalendarMESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENTWelcome to the 2020-2021 school year!We are looking forward to a new school year and are excited about the challengesand successes it will bring. Like you, our goal is to make sure that all students havea great year filled with the opportunities and resources they need to be successful.Again this year, we are combining the Informational Calendar and the Student/Parent Handbook into a single publication. In this document, you will find theresources you need throughout the school year. It includes useful informationregarding all aspects of our school system, as well as the programs, policies, andprocedures that help guide our day-to-day operations.As a school system, our efforts are squarely focused right where we should be —on our students and their success. Please remember, as parents and guardians,you play a critical role in our educational process. I urge you to be active in yourchild’s education. There are many opportunities for involvement, from being avolunteer at your child’s school to just discussing class work at home. CCPS Informational CalendarBOARD OF EDUCATIONOF CARROLL COUNTYThe Board of Education of Carroll County iscomposed of five elected members. The lawprovides for the County Commissioners to serve asnon-voting, ex-officio members of the Board. TheSuperintendent serves as the Board’s ExecutiveOfficer, Secretary and Treasurer; and a studentrepresentative is selected by the Carroll CountyStudent Government Association.Board meetings are generally held on the secondWednesday of the month at 5 p.m. beginningwith business items. Specific meeting dates andtimes are listed on the calendar for each month.Board meetings are streamed live on the CCPSwebsite at www.carrollk12.org and broadcast liveand throughout the month on Carroll EducationalTelevision - Channel 21. The Board meeting scheduleis subject to change. Special meetings are called bythe President.Carroll County citizens are encouraged to attendBoard meetings.
