PRIOR TO YOUR VOYAGEAIR INFORMATIONCUSTOMSPlease review your air schedule and ticketed namesupon receipt to ensure all information is correct. We alsorecommend that you contact the air carrier 72 hours priorto your flight to review flight times. Changes to your flights/itinerary may not be possible after travel has begun withoutincurring change and/or service fees, or being required topurchase new air tickets at your expense. To secure your seatassignment, we recommend that you contact your travelprofessional and/or the airline directly. All fees charged by theair carrier for advance seats are your responsibility. We regretthat Silversea is unable to guarantee reserved airline seatsfor our guests. If you have any dietary restrictions or requirea special meal, please be sure to advise the airline at least 48hours prior to your scheduled flight departure.Prior to departing, please consider registering your valuables(e.g. jewelry, cameras, electronic equipment, etc.) with U.S.Customs. Although this is not a requirement, it will helpto prevent delays in clearing Customs upon your return tothe U.S. For further information, please consult your travelprofessional or visit the U.S. Customs Services’ website atwww.cbp.gov and click on “Travel”. If you are not a U.S.resident, contact your local Customs office.EMBARKATIONEmbarkation times are included in your final cruisedocuments. Cruise ships departing from U.S. ports will berequired by the U.S. Customs and Border protection toprovide the full passenger and crew manifest to the U.S.government 60 minutes prior to departure. All guests mustbe on board at least 90 minutes prior to the ship’s departureto meet this government requirement. Guests arriving afterthe manifest has been submitted to the U.S. Customs andBorder Protection will be denied boarding. For non-U.S. ports,guests are required to be on board at least two hours beforethe ship’s scheduled departure time. Once you arrive at theterminal, you will be asked to show your Silversea voyagedocuments and your passport. We strongly recommend thatyou keep all necessary documents handy in your carry-on bag.You should allow a minimum of four hours between the ship’sarrival/departure time and your flights arrival/departure time.(There are exceptions, please contact Silversea Reservationsfor details.) This will allow for unexpected delays, includingbut not limited to, disembarkation formalities, transfer timeto/ from the airport, two to three hours for flight check-in,customs/ immigration formalities, unanticipated scheduled airor charter flight delays, and baggage claim/transfer.Guests requiring wheelchair assistance should notify Silverseain advance to ensure appropriate transportation and/oraccommodation arrangements are made.If you find that your flight will be delayed beyond your ship’sdeparture time, please contact Silversea’s Miami, Floridaoffice immediately at 800-722-9955 or 954-522-2299. If ouroffice is closed, please contact our after hours service at 866746-8872 or 954-761-9595.MEDICAL INFORMATIONINOCULATIONSGenerally, inoculations are not required in most areas whereSilversea travels. However, any requirements that may applyare subject to change and we recommend that you verifycurrent guidelines with your travel professional prior todeparture. PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONFor your convenience and well-being, it is important that youbring a sufficient supply of any prescription medicine you mayneed. Prescriptions cannot be refilled on board, and usuallycannot be refilled overseas. To prevent delays in clearingCustoms, it is also a good idea to travel with a doctor’s letterexplaining that your prescription medication is requiredfor your continued health. It is also recommended that themedicine remain in its original container with the originalpharmacy label intact.advantage of public spaces, however, jacket is required.On 7-day sailings or less, the formal night is per guestdiscretion. Meaning that while the ship will operate oneformal night, appropriate formal evening wear is optional. Aguideline for reference is below.On sailings of 7 days or less, expect 1 formal night(dress optional).On sailings of 8-9 days, expect 1 formal night.SPECIAL MEDICAL CONDITIONSAt Silversea, your health and safety are our first priority. Ifyou have any existing medical conditions that may requireour attention, or should you require oxygen for medicalreasons while on board, we ask that you please send writtennotification prior to your voyage to Silversea Special Services,333 SE 2nd Avenue, Suite 2600, Miami, FL 33131 or by faxto 954-759-5049. Please note that an oxygen concentrator isthe only form of oxygen equipment that Silversea ships canaccommodate. Guests wishing to bring their own portableoxygen tanks must obtain prior written authorisation fromSilversea, as restrictions may apply. Guests who rely uponwheelchairs must bring their own collapsible wheelchair.On sailings of 10-14 days, expect 2 formal nights.On sailings of 15 days and above, expect 3 formal nights.CLOTHING ASHORESince there is so much to see and do while exploring thesights, you will find that the most important packing essentialis a pair of comfortable, sturdy shoes. This is particularlyimportant for shore side explorations where often the groundis uneven and where extensive walking or climbing may berequired.Casual attire is appropriate at all times when ashore. Clothingthat can be layered to accommodate different temperatures ismost versatile and comfortable. Appropriate dress should beworn on shore excursions whilst visiting a mosque, cathedralor monastery. Guests wearing shorts or skirts above the kneeor women with bare shoulders may not be permitted to enter.Please check with the Shore Concierge Desk aboard the shipfor dress requirements before departing on tour.Please note that not all shore excursions are suitable forguests with impaired mobility.OPTIONAL HOTEL AND TRANSFERSilversea offers optional pre and post hotel and transferarrangements. Please contact Silversea or your travelprofessional for availability and details.LUGGAGE ALLOWANCELuggage allowance guidelines/fees vary by airline, airportand/or class of service ticketed. Airlines are strictly enforcingthese policies and you may be required to pay additional feesat check-in should the weight and size of your luggage beoutside the airline’s set policy and/or the number of piecesexceed the free luggage allowance. Many airlines limit eachpiece of luggage to 23kg (50lbs) or less. Since the airlineschange their policies frequently, we strongly recommend thatyou or your travel professional contact the air carrier(s) directlyfor the most up-to-date baggage allowance policies andweight/size restrictions. These policies are updated regularlyon most airline websites. Please note that each guest is fullyresponsible for any luggage fees imposed by the airlinesupon check-in. Silversea is not liable for any fees associatedwith checked or carry-on luggage, or any items confiscatedat the security checkpoint.Cruise-only guests who purchase optional transfers withSilversea must provide their flight schedule at least 21 days inadvance to ensure proper arrangements of transfers.PACKING TIPSCLOTHING ABOARD THE SHIPSilversea operates an on board dress code after 6pm, whileduring the day casual wear is appropriate for daytime andconsists of standard sports outfits as worn at five-star resorts.Shoes should be flat or low heeled for deck activities. Eveningwear falls into three categories: casual, informal and formal.On casual evenings, pants, blouses or casual dresses forwomen; open-neck shirts and slacks for men are appropriate.On informal evenings, women wear dresses or pantsuits; menwear jackets (tie optional). Appropriate formal wear for womenis an evening gown or cocktail dress; men wear tuxedos,dinner jackets or dark suits. Tie is required.Silver Shore Transfers, Land Adventures and charterflights may have additional baggage limitations. Yourfinal travel documents include the details of the luggagelimitations, if applicable.On formal nights, guests may dine in La Terrazza and chooseto dress informal. Same applies to Seishin and Stars on boardSilver Spirit and Kaiseki and Silver Note on Muse. Diningat The Grill is optional casual all nights. Same applies toSpaccanapoli on Muse. All luggage must be securely packed and tagged withthe pre-printed luggage tags supplied as part of yourdocumentation package. In accordance with airport securityrestrictions for carry-on baggage, we recommend that youhand carry travel documents (passports, visas, inoculationverification, cruise and air tickets), medications and valuables.Liquid, fragile, perishable and other articles not suitablypacked are transported at your own risk.SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTSWhile every effort will be made to deliver luggage to yoursuite in a timely manner upon embarkation, delivery may bedelayed due to strict Customs formalities, which are beyondthe ship’s control.SPECIAL OCCASIONSSilversea will make every attempt to accommodate guestswith special dietary requirements. If you have any specialneeds, please note them on the Guest Information Form orhave your travel agent fax Silversea Special Services (954-7595049) at least 90 days prior to sailing.If you are celebrating a birthday, anniversary, honeymoon orother special occasion during your voyage, we will be happyto celebrate the event with you. Please indicate your specialoccasion on your Guest Information Form or have your travelprofessional advise us of such occasions at least four weeksprior to departure.OTHER ITEMS TO PACKThe Boutique on board is stocked with some toiletries aswell as film. However, we do suggest that you pack a supplyof essential items, since toiletries are often very expensiveoverseas and sometimes unavailable. Also be sure to packan ample supply of film/memory cards and batteries for yourcamera, chargers and cables for all electronic devices youbring, over-the-counter medications and prescription drugs.TRAVEL DOCUMENTSTo ensure that your journey runs smoothly, please rememberto bring along all required travel documents. These includeair and cruise tickets, passport, visa and, if required, medicalcard inoculation verification. Please be aware that securitymeasures imposed by overseas governments may changefrom time to time. It is your responsibility to secure all relevantdocumentation for your trip. If any guest fails to obtain andto have such documents readily available, that guest may bedenied boarding and accommodation, or the guest may bedisembarked during the voyage.SUITE AMENITIESPack a little lighter knowing Silversea provides their guestswith an abundance of thoughtful items. All suites includea compact refrigerator and bar setup stocked with yourpreferred selection of complimentary beverages, luxuryEuropean or hypoallergenic bath amenities, a choice ofnine pillow types, plush robes and slippers, personalizedstationery, an umbrella, flat-screen TVs with complimentarymovies, and an alarm clock with iPod docking station.Note: Some countries you visit may require that your passportbe valid for six months following your return date.A news summary is delivered daily, and WiFi Internet accessis available in your suite and throughout the ship (fees apply).Royal, Grand and Owner’s suites also have a coffee maker.For your personal safety, we require all guests to provide uswith the above mentioned documentation in order to boardour vessels. Should you have any questions regarding traveldocuments, please consult your travel professional for advice.SILVER SHORE BAGGAGE VALETSilversea offers an optional baggage handling programme thatconveniently begins and ends at your front door, enabling youto travel with ease.For your convenience, we offer round-trip and one-wayservice options, with pricing based on the weight and numberof pieces to be shipped. For most international embark ports,we require the luggage be picked up 10-14 business daysprior to your sail date. Each piece of luggage is insured up to amaximum of US 2,000.For additional details and fares, kindly contact Silversea oryour travel professional.6

ABOARD SHIPCOMMUNICATIONS AT SEAMOBILE PHONE AND DATA SERVICESOn board, guests may send and receive phone calls,text messages and other select data services on theirown smart phone or device. Guests will be billed by theirhome mobile phone provider, calls, messages and datawill appear as roaming charges on their bill. Before leavinghome, guests should contact their provider to confirm aroaming agreement with them has been established and theapplicable rates. Each ship is also equipped with an in-suitetelephone system that allows guests to make direct-dialphone calls from their suite whilst at sea. Calls will be billedto the guest’s onboard account. Please consult the ship’sReception Desk for the current rate, which (at timeof printing) is USD 1.50 per minute.Communication via satellite is a significantly differentexperience compared to high-speed connections on shore.The signal travels in a similar manner to radio waves butat much greater distances. That is why onboard Internetaccess can be inconsistent and cannot be guaranteed at alltimes. Satellite communications can be affected by weatherand the ship’s location. As such, there may be temporaryoutages of any satellite-provided service, including Internet,mobile phones, in-suite phones, television broadcastchannels and world news summaries.Considering the limitations of satellite bandwidth, Internetaccess is best used for e-mail communication and webbrowsing. Certain websites and services may be restricteddue to limited bandwidth. Certain online activities requirehigh-bandwidth and will be more frustrating than enjoyable.The ship’s Internet service is a very reasonably pricedalternative to phoning. Should someone wish to reacha guestwhilst they are at sea, please refer to the Leave BehindInformation provided in the final cruise documents.COMMUNICATION SERVICESINTERNET ACCESSAll guests will be granted free, unlimited standard Wi-Fifor 1 device at the time. Guests sailing in Medallion, Silver,Royal, Grand or Owner’s suites will receive unlimitedpremium Internet access aboard for up to 2 devices at atime. Standard Wi-Fi is provided at regular satellite speed –ideal for emailing, web surfing, chat or similar. Not suitablefor video, audio calls, or streaming. Premium access issuitable for all kinds of applications, including video andaudio call and streaming. Premium WI-FI is available at anadditional charge. Guests may use their own laptop withwireless to conveniently access the Internet and personalemail services from the privacy of their own suite, and atwireless Internet (Wi-Fi) locations throughout the ship.DINING OPTIONSSilversea features a variety of onboard dining options includingThe Restaurant, La Dame, La Terrazza, Pool Bar & Grill (TheGrill in the evening), plus 24-hour in-suite dining.THE RESTAURANTThe Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Ouropenseating policy allows you to dine when and with whomyou wish. The menu features sumptuous classical cuisine withan international flair including signature dishes. Low calorie,low carb, vegetarian and vegan options are also available.LA DAMEIndulge in an evening where fine wines are complementedby a set bespoke menu of regionally-inspired dishes in anintimate, elegant setting. Most international airports alsoexchange funds, though they often charge higher exchangefees. In certain ports of call there will be a local bankrepresentative on board to exchange funds into the currencyof the host country.MAKING PURCHASES ABROADIf you plan to make any major purchases abroad, werecommend that you use your charge card ashore wherever itis accepted. This will often ensure receiving a better exchangerate than what is offered locally.8

SHIPBOARD ACCOUNTUpon embarkation, guests will be asked to register their VISA ,Master Card or American Express credit card number andexpiration date, which must be valid through the final day oftheir voyage. All charges for services provided and productspurchased onboard must be settled in cash in U.S. dollars,by travellers cheques in U.S. dollars, or above listed creditcard at the end of each voyage segment and before finaldisembarkation from the ship. Although all shipboard chargesare in U.S. dollars, Silversea processes shipboard credit cardtransactions through the United Kingdom. Please be awarethat some credit card companies charge a foreign transactionfee. Silversea encourages guests to contact their credit cardissuer in advance of their cruise to enquire about possibleforeign transaction fees.LAUNDRY/VALET SERVICESComplete valet services, including laundry, pressing and drycleaning, are available and may be arranged through yourButler. Customary charges will apply. A complimentary selfservice launderette offers washing machines, dryers, ironsand laundry supplies.MAILPrior to your departure date, we will provide you with alist of port addresses where mail can be delivered to youthroughout the voyage. Postage and mailing services areavailable on board.MEDICAL SERVICESEach of our ships is equipped with a Medical Centre. Adoctor and nurse are on 24-hour call when at sea. Whendocked, supplementary emergency care may also beobtained through local medical facilities. Guests may becharged for medical services and for medications usedfor their medical treatment. The Medical Centre is notintended or designed to provide ongoing treatment for preexisting conditions or for extended critical care, andSilversea is not responsible for the diagnosis, treatment orservices furnished by shipboard medical personnel. Guestsrequiring oxygen for medical reasons are welcome to bringan oxygen concentrator onboard. Guests wishing to bringtheir own portable oxygen tanks must obtain prior writtenauthorisation from Silversea, as restrictions may apply. Publications areavailable within hours of original printings. Royal, Grand andOwner’s suite guests will receive one periodical daily withour compliments.CRUISE CONSULTANTLocated in the lobby area, our Cruise Consultant isavailable to assist you with future itineraries. During holidays, Catholic and/or Jewish clergywill be on board whenever possible.DVDSEach suite is equipped with a DVD player, and the Libraryhouses a film collection on DVD. In-suite televisionprogramming is also available 24 hours a day, seven days,and offers movie channels and news channels such as CNN,BBC World, Fox News and ESPN. Silver Spirit featuresmovies on-demand in place of a DVD player.SHOE SHINEComplimentary shoe shine is available to all guestsupon request.POLICIESITINERARY VARIATIONSIt is our goal to follow our ship’s schedule and itinerary asplanned. However, conditions beyond the control of Silversea,such as weather, may occasionally make it necessary to alteran itinerary. Guests will be notified of any required deviationas soon as possible.GUEST RELATIONS SERVICESEach ship offers the services of a Guest Relations Managerwho can assist you with any number of personal needs,reservations, information or other special requests.9

PETSWe are unable to accommodate pets of any kind on anySilversea voyage.THE CASINO BAR (Silver Shadow / Silver Whisper)This cosy bar, accessible from The Casino, sportscomfortable chairs and Italian sofas, with leather stoolscircling the handsome wood bar. Day or night it welcomesyou to relax with friends over light conversation or afterbrowsing the nearby boutiques.SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURESIt is mandatory that all guests participate in a safety drill,which is normally scheduled to take place prior to departurefrom the port of embarkation. Please note that emergencyinformation is posted in your suite.THE CONNOISSEUR’S CORNERThe Connoisseur’s Corner offers for purchase exceptionalcognacs along with an extensive selection of premium cigars.SMOKINGAt Silversea, the comfort, enjoyment and safety of all guestsis paramount. Most areas on board are non-smoking, and,as a safety precaution, smoking is not permitted in guestsuites or guest suite verandas. However, cigarette, cigar andpipe smoking is permitted in the Connoisseur’s Corner andin specifically designated outside areas. These areas includedesignated tables outside of the Panorama Lounge and thePool Bar, as well as on open Decks 9 and 10 aboard SilverSpirit, Silver Whisper and Silver Shadow – and open Deck9 aboard Silver Cloud and Silver Wind. Tables and seatinghave been made available outside La Terrazza for cigarettesmoking exclusively.
