Collins Athletics Complex: It is recommended family/guests park and be seated in the stands on the same sidewhere their graduate will be seated on the field (Visitor - East or Home - West) We are asking our senior families to please attempt to limit their guests to no more than ten, sothat we can practice social distancing protocols during our graduation ceremonies. If a familymay have more than ten guests, we are asking that they work through the associate principal attheir respective high school for accommodations. We are asking that our families practice ‘pod’seating in the stands; sitting as a pod with their family and guests while socially distanced fromother family pods. “Empowering lifelong learners to be engaged citizens who positively impact their local and global community”Graduate Staging Area: Signage will be posted with a list of signs and symptoms for the purpose of screeningstaff and graduates. Staff and graduates will be asked if they have had any of thosesymptoms. If NO, they may proceed. If YES, they will not be allowed to enter the venue.On site nurses/staff may further assess individuals responding YES to any of the signsand symptoms of the screening protocols. Reference Health Screening guidelinesbelow. All employees, graduates, and other volunteers will be required to wear cloth facecoverings (over the nose and mouth), except when photos are taken, before, during,and after each ceremony.o Cloth masks will be provided to each graduate, faculty, and volunteers uponentering the graduate staging area.o Masks may ONLY be removed when the graduate is walking across the stage toretrieve their diploma and within the photographer’s tent.o Masks must be placed on the face prior to the graduate returning to their seatduring the ceremony.Security Screening: Graduates advancing through the health screening will proceed to the security andmetal detector check point, which will be operated by our Student Resource Officers. Prohibited items (listed below, but not limited to these) may result in the graduatebeing escorted from the graduation venue. Graduates will walk through a metal detector prior to entering the staging area. Graduates advancing through the security screening will be directed to the graduatestaging area.o Staff and graduates are to maintain 3 feet of social distance at all times.o Staff and graduates are to wear face masks at all times before, during, and afterthe ceremony and until they exit the venue. Graduates will be directed to their specific staging area, which will be monitored andsupervised by faculty and staff at all times.o Supervising staff will provide graduates with photography cards/name cards forthe ceremony.o Supervising staff will ensure appropriate pronunciation of graduates’ names toshare with MCs.o Supervising staff will monitor communicated health guidelines, social distancing,and face mask requirements.o At the assigned time, supervising staff will have graduates line up accordinglyand escort the graduates to the graduation seating area on the track.Prohibited Items:

Graduates may only bring medically necessary items that can be held in theirhands throughout the ceremony. There will be no area to store personal items for graduates before, during,and/or after the ceremony. Denton ISD and staff are not responsible for lost, stolen, or confiscated items. No firearms, knives, explosives or other weapons. No cans, coolers and other containers except in cases of medical need, as certified by aphysician. No artificial noisemakers, air horns or megaphones may be used.Cell Phone Policy: Graduates are prohibited from bringing cell phones into the graduation venue. Cellphones should be left in the graduate’s vehicle in the assigned graduate parking area.Cell phones will be confiscated and graduates will have to coordinate an appointment toretrieve cell phones in the days following graduation. School offices will not reopenuntil Tuesday, June 1, 2021.Health Screening: Prior to participating, individuals must be screened (via questioning) by school systememployees for any of the following signs or symptoms of possible COVID-19:o Cougho Shortness of breath or difficulty breathingo Chillso Repeated shaking with chillso Muscle paino Headacheo Sore throato Loss of taste or smello Diarrheao Temperature of 100 degrees fahrenheit or greatero Known close contact with a person who is lab confirmed to have COVID-19exposure occurred within the last 14 days.Those found with any of these signs or symptoms must be excluded from the activity.Attire for Graduates:Graduates are highly encouraged to dress appropriately for summer weather. All clothing mustbe appropriate and compliant with school dress code. Male graduates should dress in sports casual with appropriate footwear. Sports casual includes a short-sleeve button-down or a polo shirt, paired withkhakis pants or dress shorts.

Female graduates should wear a summer dress, jumpsuit, or similar clothing. A flat sandal or other appropriate footwear for walking is suggested HEELS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED No tennis shoes or flip flops allowed. No denim allowed.Health and Safety Protocols: Hand sanitizer or hand washing stations will be available at all venue entrances. All employees, graduates, and other volunteers will be required to wear cloth facecoverings (over the nose and mouth), except when photos are taken, before, during,and after each ceremony.o Cloth masks will be provided to each graduate, faculty, and volunteer uponentering the graduate staging area. EVERYONE must maintain safe social distancing of 3 ft. at all times. School employeesmust be stationed appropriately to ensure compliance with all requirements and to limitcongregating. Diplomas or other documents may not be handed from person to person unless masksare worn at all times. Care should be taken and every effort made to mitigate virus exposure whenparticipants come into contact with documents and other objects such as diplomas andawards. Faculty, staff and graduates must be wearing masks at all times. Cleaningwipes/materials will be available to wipe down tables as necessary. Communication plans must be in place to address steps to be taken before, during, andafter the ceremony to ensure participants and their families are aware of safetyprotocols throughout the ceremony.Recommendations for Parking and Seating: Suggest graduates’ guests park and be seated on the same side where their graduatewill be seated on the field (Visitor - East or Home - West)o Allows graduate’s guests to have the best view of the graduate and theceremony East Side (Visitor Side) Parking Directions:o Guests traveling on Loop 288 should exit Sherman Dr./428 and head northo Turn left onto Long Rd. off Sherman Dr./428 Pass the Denton Natatorium/Water Works Park and enter the firstentrance on the east side (visitor side) of the stadiumo Park and be seated on the east side of the stadium (visitor side)o Graduates who will be seated on the east side (visitor side)o of the field may follow the same directions

“Empowering lifelong learners to be engaged citizens who positively impact their local and global community” It is recommended graduates arrive no earlier than one hour prior to theceremony start time and park closest to Long Rd., which will afford thebest access to the graduate staging areaWest Side (Home Side) Parking Directions:Ideally, guests would travel west on Loop 288 and turn north on Stuart Rd.o Note: There is no exit ramp to Stuart Rd.From the westbound frontage road off 288, turn right onto Stuart Rd. and take the firstright onto Long Rd.o Pass Gonzalez School for Young Childreno Pass the Advanced Technology Complex, but turn into the stadium at themarquee sign for the Advanced Technology Complex, which is located on thewest side (home side) of the stadiumPark and be seated on the west side(home side) of the stadium (press box side)Graduates who will be seated on the west side (home side) of the field may follow thesame directionso It is recommended graduates arrive no earlier than one hour prior to theceremony start time and park closest to Long Rd., which will afford the bestaccess to the graduate staging areaDuring the Ceremony: At the designated time, graduates will proceed to the graduation ‘stage’ to receive theirdiploma when recognized by name. Staff will be stationed appropriately to ensure proper social distancing.o Stage guests will be required to wear their masks throughout the ceremony.o Stage guests and graduates will not shake hands, hug, or make any physicalcontact, but are encouraged to exhibit their congratulations to each graduate asthey cross the ‘stage!’o Graduates will cross the stage to receive their diploma. Graduates will proceed to side tables to obtain additional materials to be distributed bystaff.o Staff will be required to wear face masks at all times.o Staff and graduates must avoid contact when exchanging items. Graduates will proceed to the photography tent for graduation photos.o Graduates may remove face masks for photos ONLY.o Graduates must replace face masts prior to moving back to their seats.o Photographers and assistants must wear face masks at all times.After the Ceremony: Graduates will remain at their seat until escorted by staff in an organized manner off ofthe field.o Staff and graduates will maintain proper social distance with face masks onthroughout departure.o Graduates will be escorted directly to the graduate parking area where they willenter their vehicles and begin their departure.
