Reasonableaccommodations can be made, as needed, which willgive the same choices and opportunities that otherparticipants have in our programs. If inclusion servicesare needed, please indicate the participant’s specialneed during the registration process. Contact AngieBarstad at (952) 447-9822 three weeks prior to thestart of the program to discuss strategies for inclusion.LATE PICK UP FEEIf a parent/guardian is not on time for picking upparticipants, a late fee will be assessed. After a10-minute grace period, a 1 fee will be charged perchild per minute. If a parent is 20 minutes late, local lawenforcement will be contacted. All fees must be paidbefore attending the next day of camp.2If a registration is canceled by the participant 7 days ormore before a program begins, the registration fee isrefunded minus a 5 processing fee per person per program. NO REFUNDS are given if a cancelation is requestedless than 7 days before a program begins or when theregistration fee is 5 or less. Refunds will not be given fordays missed. You must call the office to process a refund.WEATHER CANCELATIONSWhen a program is canceled due to inclement weather,no refund is issued. Please call our hotline for up-to-dateinformation at (952) 447-9825.If a program is canceled BEFORE the program START timeparticipants will receive an e-mail.If a program is canceled DURING the program time,participants will receive a phone call.REGISTRATION DEADLINESRegistration deadlines are established for each classto help provide a positive experience for programparticipants by ensuring appropriate staffing, supplies andfacilities. That is why we pride ourselves on our wonderful staffof talented rec leaders. We look for energetic and responsible individuals who are ready for a summer full of laughter,friendships, and fun. With a staff/camper ratio of approximately 1:6 for ages 3-6 and 1:10 for ages 7-11, our staff gets to knowthe campers well. In addition, many of our leaders continue to return year after year, as they have become attached to thepark and rec life. From professional educators to college students and former campers, our loyal staff is made up of a diversegroup of people who all bring something uniquely wonderful to our camps.Join the Team!If you love kids, and you want to have thesummer of a lifetime, then join the 2020Prior Lake Rec Leader Team!The City seeks enthusiastic recreationleaders who are good role models andenjoy being around children. Position isresponsible for caring for children betweenthe ages of 3–11 years who participate inthe City’s structured recreation programsutilizing Prior Lake neighborhood andcommunity parks. Must have valid Minnesota driver’slicense with driving record acceptable tothe City. Must have the ability to lift up toand over 30 pounds, and perform physicalactivity in outdoor weather conditions. Must be 16 years of age as of May 1 ofthe current year. Must be able to communicate via email.Deadline to apply is March 27. Interviewdate set for April 6. Download an application.YOUTH PROGRAMS FOR AGES 3 - 11About Our Youth ProgramsSummer recreation camps are for children to participate in fun, supervised, outdoor activities during the summer months.Summer Recreation staff provide quality recreational experiences that promote healthy living, character building, andteamwork through collaborative and active play. Please note, each camp has specific themed activities which will be in additionto traditional camp activities.Campers are asked to wear clothes and shoes that they can run in. Campers should also wear sunscreen and bug spray if theydesire. Campers should bring a water bottle each day. Read more about what to bring and expect at programs in the Parenthandbook online.LUNCH BUNCH: Lunch Bunch is a “bridge” between Prior Lake Recreation’s morning and afternoonprograms from 12-12:30pm for many 6-11-year-old camps. Lunch Bunchers bring their own lunchand eat together, with recreation staff, at their park, then enjoy supervised free play until theafternoon program is ready to begin.
