WelcomeReflections:With the arrival of September Faith Formation has been preparing for the new faith year.Registrations have been coming in all summer. We have every teacher/catechist we need forevery class! Some catechists have been teaching for a long time, some took a break and arereturning, some are new to the parish. Four of our catechists are students at Holy Cross andtwo are high school students. All together we have 28 people as our catechists for the 20182019 year. On September 9th the catechist came together for a five hour meeting. We spenttime talking about our goals for the upcoming year. We shared Adoration together. The catechists broke upinto age levels and start to work together on presenting the curriculum and engaging our children and ourteens. Deacon Patrick spoke to us about the importance of Mass and Eucharist to feed us on our journey.Deacon Chris spoke of ways to engage students and ways to bring technology to the classroom. Jason Graya parishioner who works with special needs children in the public schools came and spoke to us about waysto make all of our children successful in our program. This past weekend we had our Confirmation overnight retreat. Our 11th grade students came on retreatwith our 8 God Squad leaders. The God Squad leaders are 8 teens who were confirmed last May. Theyhave spent the summer months training to be peer mentors and planning the entire retreat. They put theirhearts into making this the best retreat they could for their peers. I have so much respect for each one ofthese students. They are Skylar Chase, Emma Holtz, Casey Paulhus, Jon Ramalho, Lily Salatiello, SophieSalatiello, Jed Wermuth and Brian Wildman. They have hours of their time to work for this retreat. They support each other and worked so incredibly well together. With the retreat over any of the retreatants are nowable to join God Squad. The veteran members and new members will now work to put together a retreat forour Middle School students in March. This weekend we will celebrate our Parish Family with our festival on Sunday. Last year at the Festival Ihad just started here and didn’t know many of you. I am looking forward to celebrating our Parish with younow that I know you better. Next weekend we start up with Faith Formation again. While the break was niceI am looking forward to our children and teens coming back. I look forward to being with all of our kids again. The other day I was driving by Foppema’s and realizing their season will soon come to an end. Yet I drive bytwice a day four days a week and I only stopped in once this summer. It reminded me how fast time goesand seasons change. This week my husband and I will celebrate our 25th anniversary! Again, how fast timegoes by. I am trying to take a moment and just enjoy today before it passes by. I can’t wait to see you at thefestival and enjoy our day together.Peace, AileenThe Chapel is available for families to use during Masses on theweekend. Mass is streamed in and there is plenty of room for our youngerparishioners to roam around. We are starting TWO NEW EMAIL/CONTACT PROGRAMSSOON- “Ministry Scheduling Pro” and “Flock Notes.” If you havenot been receiving emails from St. Patrick’s or have changedyour email address, please contact the office or Shelly so wecan update your information.Thank you!September 23, 2018Twenty-Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time
