November 8, 2020Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Hainesport, New JerseyPage 3-565Message from Fr. JoeOur gospel this weekend is a strange storyabout a wedding with ten bridesmaids and a late bridegroom. Five out of the ten bridesmaids had their lampsfilled with oil and the other five did not. Now, some ofyou may be wondering what is the point of this story. My dear friends, our gospel’s message thisweekend offers us some wisdom on how to prepare forGod’s coming, and to discover what we are preparingfor. Christ is telling us that as we wait for God’s kingdom. we should not only wait in anticipation, but alsoto prepare ourselves in the ways of the Lord. We haveto remember that as Christians, our waiting for Christdoes not mean that we wait in our sleep. Our waiting means getting ready, being prepared anddoing something good as if it was our last day. Yes, every minute here on earth counts. That is whyit is important to ask the questions, “What would Jesus do, and what does He wants us to do if this isour last day?”My dear brothers and sisters, we all have heard the words: Stop! Look! and Listen! TodayJesus adds more meaning to these words. He says, “Stay Awake! Wait! and be Prepared! for we donot know on which day our Lord will come.”Fr JoeStewardship of TreasureParish Offering: November 1, 2020Weekly CollectionSecond CollectionAll Saints Day CollectionAll Souls Day CollectionMiscellaneous Collections 5,163.0080.00502.00351.00249.00E-GivingWeekly CollectionSecond CollectionBuilding FundDiocesan AssessmentUtility/GroundsAll Saints Day CollectionAll Souls Day Collection 3,139.0025.0035.0027.0037.0040.00237.00Total 9,885.00We make a living by what we earn.We make a life by what we share.”Thank you for your generoussupport of our parish. To those who are able to give, please continue yoursupport to our parish by mailing in your contributionsand weekly envelopes or by dropping them in our “mailbox” located at our Parish Office or by using our onlinee-giving found on our website. The wisdom that the five foolishones disregard was available to all who desired it, resplendentand unfading. Let us use that wisdom now as we listen to theword of God, considering what we can do to brighten the pathto God’s kingdom.Readings and GospelsFor the Week1st ReadingSundayWis 6: 12-16Ez 47: 1-2, 8-12Tuesday:Ti 2: 1-8, 11-14Wednesday: Ti 3: 1-7Thursday: Phlm 7-20Friday:2 Jn 4-9Saturday:3 Jn 5-8Monday:2nd ReadingGospel1 Thes 4: 13-18 Mt 25: 1-131 Cor 3: 9c-17 Jn 2: 13-22Lk 17: 7-10Lk 17: 11-19Lk 17: 20-25Lk 17: 26-37Lk 18: 1-8Click here for this Sunday’s Readings and GospelDAILY MASSES(Monday - Friday)9:00 AM(inside the Church)Private prayer till 12:00 p.m.*No more than 50 persons attending.
