AimsKS2 Geography Identify the position and significance of latitude, longitude, Equator, NorthernHemisphere, Southern Hemisphere, the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, Arctic andAntarctic Circle, the Prime/Greenwich Meridian and time zones (including day andnight).Learning IntentionsStudents can: Recall the names of the continents and the points on a compass. Identify which continents are in which hemisphere. Apply your understanding of longitude and latitude to locate continents.ResourcesSupplied: PowerPoint, including Printable worksheets on PowerPoint slides 4-6PreparationThe lesson assumes some prior knowledge surrounding the continents and the points on acompass.1. Read the lesson plan and PowerPoint to familiarise yourself with the activities.2. Print PowerPoint slides 4 and 6, one per student, and slide 5, one per four students.3.
