YOUR HEADLINE Compelling and keyword focused It’s not a job title (although this is the default choice) You have 240 characters to use19

YOUR BASIC INFORMATION Country/Region (required field) Postal Code (required field) Industry (required field) – The Industry field is animportant keyword for LinkedIn profile searches.However, you must choose only one from theindustries LinkedIn provides in the drop-down list20

ADDING A PHOTO Yes, a photo is a must! You do not need a professional headshot or to weara suit It should be a current photo Do use a white background Photo should be from shoulders up Color is recommended, however black & white is fine21

KEYWORDS Keywords are important and play a significant rolefound in being found on LinkedIn by people whodon’t know you. This is especially true for job seekers Sprinkle relevant keywords throughout your LinkedInprofile22

YOUR ABOUT SECTION The About section of your profile is a vital part ofyour LinkedIn presence You have 2600 characters to give readers a briefsnapshot of who you are The first two to three sentences need to instantly getyour prospects interested in your profile23
