Reentry Job Search Resources“Breaking the Barriers to Employment”Returning citizens face barriers to employment.Barriers to employment may include the following: stigma andbias, drug and alcohol problems, a lack of continuous workhistory, and poor education. Obtaining employment may reducethe likelihood of returning individuals being a harm to society,committing other crimes, and being reincarcerated.The majority of returning citizens do not have violent criminalrecords. Many returning citizen records consist of propertycrimes and drug related convictions.Reentry Job Search Resources is designed to help eliminate thebarriers to employment for returning individuals by providingjob search, legal, substance abuse treatment, and educationalresources.New materials are added to the Library’s collection on a regularbasis.
