T ip sandTechniquesSealsDuring the BlendThere are two seals supplied with yourPersonal Cup & Adapter. The seals areinterchangeable and their uses are: During the blend - place a seal onthe thread on the adapter. To travel - place a seal on the fliptop lid before attaching to the20 ounce (0.6 L) personal cup.The seals are used to avoid leaks andspills. If you experience leaking: Make sure the seal is in place onSealthe adapter before attaching itAdapter Baseto the personal cup. Thread the adapter onto thepersonal cup until it stops.Try to thread a little further tomake sure it is tight.To GoIngredientsFlip-top Lid Cut ingredients into 1-inch pieces.DO NOT overfill. Cubed icecrushed ice. Add ingredients to the Personal Cup in the order they appear inthe recipe, or follow the general guideline on page 6 when creatingyour own.blendsbetterSealthanSCALE 1.000Operation When starting your machine, hold at a low speed (1 or 2) for a fewseconds until you see the blades “grab” or begin to process theingredients. Once ingredients begin circulating, increase to the speedrecommended in the Vitamix recipe. Operating at a lower speedthan suggested can cause the motor to overheat. Blend for the fullprocessing time suggested in the recipe.CAUTIONMoving Parts May Become Hot with Extended Use.DO NOT touch.5

BlendingWARNINGParts will become hot with extended use.DO NOT touch the drive socket in the motor base orthe drive spline in the adapter.To avoid damage or personal injury, DO NOT use the 20ounce (0.6 L) personal cup (including the blade base orflip-top lid) in the microwave.DO NOT blend hot liquids in the 20 ounce (0.6 L)personal cup.DO NOT attempt to blend in the adapter without useof the personal cup.This icon corresponds to suggested recipes for the 20 ounce (0.6 L)personal cup in Vitamix cookbooks.1.To begin, put a seal on the bottom threadof the adapter. The seal should fit snuglyand evenly around the thread.2.Load the 20 ounce (0.6 L) personal cupaccording to the recipe.3.Thread the adapter onto the 20 ounce(0.6 L) personal cup in a clockwisedirection just until tight. DO NOTovertighten or leaking can occur.4.Invert the 20 ounce (0.6 L)personal cup so the bladeassembly is on the bottom. To Go1.Put a seal on the flip-top lid. Theseal should fit snugly and evenlyaround the bottom thread of theflip-top lid.Flip-top Lid2.Thread the flip-top lid onto the 20ounce (0.6 L) personal cup in aclockwise direction until just tight.DO NOT overtighten or leaking can occur.3.To open the flip-top lid, hold the personal cup with one hand, pressthe two tabs on lid with the other hand and lift up to release.SealSCALE 1.000CareandCleaningPersonal Cup, Lids, Adapter and SealsThe parts are top rack dishwasher safe. The parts may become damagedif they are not washed on the top rack.Remove the adapter from the personal cup after blending. Clean thethreads on the adapter and seals thoroughly to avoid ingredient buildup. Ingredient build up might cause problems when trying to removethe blade base from the personal cup if it has been attached and allowedto sit for a long period of time.Warranty3-YEAR FULL WARRANTY ON SEPARATELY SOLD CONTAINERCOMPONENTS1. WHAT IS COVERED.Vita-Mix Corporation (“Vitamix”) warrants that the blade base and seal(collectively and individually referred to as “Container Component”)that is purchased separately from a blender motor-base will be freefrom defects in material or workmanship and will withstand wear andtear from ordinary household use for 3 years from the date of purchase.Vitamix will, within 30 days of receipt of the returned product, repairthe failed Container Component free of charge. If, in Vitamix’s solediscretion, the failed Container Component cannot be repaired,Vitamix will elect to either (A) replace the Container Component freeof charge or (B) refund the full purchase price to the owner, unlessVitamix receives prior written notice of the owner’s preference.7

2. WHAT IS NOT COVERED.This Warranty applies only to owners for ordinary household use.This Warranty does not cover cosmetic changes that do not affectperformance, such as discoloration or the effects of the use of abrasivesor cleaners or food build up. This Warranty is only valid if the ContainerComponent is used in accordance with the instructions, warnings andsafeguards contained in the owner’s manual.Vitamix will not be responsible for the cost of any unauthorizedwarranty repairs.REPAIR, REPLACEMENT OR REFUND OF THE PURCHASE PRICEARE THE EXCLUSIVE REMEDIES OF PURCHASER AND THE SOLELIABILITY OF VITAMIX UNDER THIS WARRANTY. NO EMPLOYEEOR REPRESENTATIVE OF VITAMIX IS AUTHORIZED TO MAKEANY ADDITIONAL WARRANTY OR ANY MODIFICATION TO THISWARRANTY WHICH MAY BE BINDING UPON VITAMIX.
