CUNY TUMBLEWEED (SECURE TRANSPORT) USER GUIDEIntroductionTumbleweed (Secure Transport) is used to provide secure file transfer of critical business files,financial transactions, and sensitive data such as social security# across campuses, over theinternet and across private networks.Note: Files over 30 days left on tumbleweed storage will be deleted on a consistent basis.ScopeThese procedures are intended to support faculty, staff, and consultants sponsored by faculty orstaff in using Secure Transport to download or upload files in a secure manner.PurposeThis will enable University constituents to comply with university security policy and proceduresand New York State Security Policy (see security.cuny.edu).Supported Web BrowsersA high-speed Internet connection A supported Internet browser : Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 Microsoft Edge - latest version Mozilla Firefox - latest version Apple Safari - latest version Google Chrome - latest versionCUNY Tumbleweed Guide 7-5-2019

Logging inUse a standard browser mentioned above to connect by entering the provided URL. HTTPS isthe one of the secure ways to connect to the Secure Transport server. To use a browser to connect to a Secure Transport server: Start your internet browser. Use the URL provided via CUNY email Enter your User ID and Password and click Signin. Reset your password when required If you attempt to sign in and you receive a message that indicates you must reset yourpassword, follow these steps: Open a supported browser. Enter the URL for the SecureTransport Server. Enter your User ID and Password, and click Log in. The Change passwordpage is displayed. Enter your old password or the temporary password provided by the system administrator. Enter your new password. Your new password must meet the listed criteria defined bySecure Transport server administrator. Confirm your new password. Click Save.Reset your forgotten passwordTo reset your password: On the ST Web Client Login page, click forgot your password?Enter the email address configured for your Secure Transport account.Click reset password. Get to know ST Web ClientYou can use the ST Web Client to manage: Preferences and passwordsFile and foldersUploadsYour files pane viewManage files and foldersUpload files to ST Web Client you can either drag and drop the files or click the Upload button. To upload files with drag and drop: From a folder on your computer, select the file or files to upload. Use the Ctrl or Shiftkeys to select multiple files. Drag and drop the files on the Your files pane To upload files with the Upload button: From your files pane, click Upload. Select the file or files to upload. Download files Click the file name in your files pane.Select the file to download in your files pane, select Download from the Actions menu.Right-click on the file name in your files pane, select Download.Use the Ctrl key to select multiple files.Move filesTo move a file into a different folder: From your files left pane, select the file to move.Select the Actions drop-down menu and select Move to.The Move pane is displayed Select the folder to move the file into from the folder list.Click Move. The selected file is moved into the selected folder and a message isdisplayed that indicates the move was successful.Create foldersTo create a folder: From your files pane, select Create folder from the Actions menu.The Create folder pane opens. Enter the folder name.Click Create. The new folder is created and displayed on your files pane and a message isdisplayed that the folder is successfully created.Share folders From your files pane, select a folder to share.Click Share. Enter a valid user email address in the People: field, you can add additional valid user emailaddresses one at time. You can also select the Address Book to add people or groups.People or groups selected as favorites are listed when the People: field is selected.(Optional) Select Allow people to view collaborators to show a list of collaborators.(Optional) Select Send notification to collaborators to send email notifications to thecollaborators.(Optional) Select notify me when a file is uploaded to be notified when a file is uploaded tothe shared folder.Determine the People access level. ( Download only / Download and upload / Download,upload, and overwrite files)Click Share. The folder is shared.Unshare foldersTo unshare a folder: From your files pane, select the shared folder to unshare.Click Share. The Share pane opens.Click the Unshare button. Rename files and foldersTo rename a file or folder: From your files pane, select the file or folder to rename. Tip you can also right-click on theselected file or folder.Select Rename from the Actions menu. The Rename pane opens.Enter a New name.Click Rename.Delete files and foldersTo delete a file or folder: From your files pane, select the file or folder to delete. Use the Ctrl key to select multiplefiles. Tip You can also right-click on the selected file or folderSelect Delete from the Actions menu. The Delete confirmation pane opens.Click Delete to confirm.Monitor uploadsFrom your files pane. Click Upload monitor. The Uploads monitor pane is displayed:The Uploads monitor pane displays the following information: The current status of the file uploadsThe progress of each uploadThe overall progress of all uploadsThe name, size, started, and speed of each uploadPause uploadsTo pause an upload: Select the uploads you want to pause. Resume uploads to resume an upload: Select the uploads that are paused that you want to resume. Use the Ctrl key to selectmultiple uploads.Click Resume.Cancel uploads to cancel an upload: Select the upload that is running that you want to cancel. Use the Ctrl key to selectmultiple uploads.Click CancelTroubleshooting If you have problems using Web Access, try the following: Restart the web browser. Clear the web browser and JRE caches.
