Home schooling – What is available on TV (BBC)The BBC Bitesize website will be expanded to cater for home learning, while special programmes will alsobe broadcast on BBC iPlayer and BBC Red Button.BBC BitesizeDaily LessonsLaunches onMonday 20th om Bitesize Daily, parents and children will be directed online to BBC Bitesizefor videos, quizzes, podcasts and worksheets on subjects such as Maths, Englishand Science, and other subjects such as history, geography and art.These shows are aimed at all children across the UK and split into age groups 5-7years, 7-9 years, 9-11 years, 11-12, 12-13 years and 13-14 years.The website will also house guides offering help to parents about how to teachtheir child, advice for effective home schooling, and guides for pupils with SEN(Special Education Needs).BBC iPlayerBBC iPlayer will serve up specially curated content to showcase the very bestcurriculum-related videos and programmes. Organised by year group andsubject, it will be easy for children to find and navigate further support for theirlearning.BBC SoundsTwo brand new daily education podcasts will be available on BBC Sounds aimedat parents of primary and secondary pupils. Each episode will last around tenminutes and will be a guide to help families home schooling find content on theBBC that supports their education and wellbeing.BBC FourBBC Four will devote a block of programming each weekday evening to showsthat support GCSE and A-Level curriculums. The channel will bring back premiumfactual programmes presented by some of Britain’s most authoritative voices onScience and History.Bitesize’s socialmediaBitesize’s social media will look a little different for a while. Its Facebook andTwitter accounts will now focus on parents, where information including studyschedules will be shared.
