I N T R O D U C T I O NIntroduction.Thank you for purchasing your Isuzu truck.Properly used and maintained it should give you goodfuel economy and great reliability.Regular maintenance, in accordance with themanufacturer’s recommendations, is essential to ensurethe safe, economical and environmentally acceptableoperation of your vehicle.You have a legal responsibility to ensure that the vehicleis kept in a roadworthy condition at all times. In particular,holders of “Operator’s Licences” must honour thedeclaration, which they give to the Traffic Commissioner,that their vehicle will be operated in a sound mechanicalcondition.Everyday routine checks as listed in the owners handbook,e.g. oil & coolant levels, are important but you mustalso arrange regular services in accordance with IsuzuTruck UK’s service recommendations. The schedule andrecommended intervals of time and mileages have beendevised to ensure that preventative maintenance reducescosts of repair or replacement, whilst the benefits andeconomy can be significant.We recommend that an Isuzu truck service dealer isappointed to be responsible for the maintenance of yourvehicle. Our dealers have fully trained staff who will serviceand repair your vehicle using only genuine Isuzu parts.5

WA R R A N T YD E TA I L SWarranty details.All Isuzu Truck UK dealers operate to high standards toensure customer satisfaction.Should a mechanical failure or breakdown occur on yourvehicle during the warranty period, which is due to faultymaterials or manufacture, we will deal with it with the minimumof inconvenience to yourself within our dealer network.Prior to delivery, your vehicle will have been given an inspectionto ensure it reaches you in fully operational condition. Finally,may we ask you to read our Warranty carefully to make surethat you are familiar with its terms.SERVICE INTERVALS4JJ1 & RZ4E engine:12,500 miles (20,000km) or annually4HK1 Engine:30,000km or annually.6ROADSIDE ASSISTANCEOur Isuzu Truck Assistance provides repair & recovery inMainland UK, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man 24 hoursa day, every day of the year, for the duration of the warrantyperiod of your vehicle.Wherever possible, repairs will be completed by Isuzu Assistat the roadside. This will allow you to continue with minimumdelay. Where this is not possible your vehicle will be recoveredto the nearest Isuzu Truck UK Service dealer.You are even covered for those mishaps that don’t oftenhappen but cause considerable inconvenience when they do,for example, running out of fuel. Isuzu Truck Assistance willhelp & attend the vehicle free of charge, however you will beexpected to pay for any fuel supplied.0800 008 7210

T E R M S&C O N D I T I O N STerms & conditions.Isuzu Truck (UK) Limited warrants that all vehicles soldin Mainland UK, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man,the chassis, cab and driveline shall be free from defects inmaterials and workmanship for the duration of the warranty,valid from the date of registration. The duration of warranty(chassis cab) is 36 months from the date of registration.If you would like confirmation please ask your local Isuzudealer or contact us and we will be happy to help.If a defect occurs during the period of warrantycovered, the failed parts will be repaired or replaced byany Isuzu truck dealer free of charge (subject to ourwarranty conditions and exclusions). Any parts displacedduring warranty will become the property of Isuzu Truck(UK) Limited.This warranty applies only to components that formpart of the original vehicle chassis, cab and drivelinespecifications as manufactured and supplied by IsuzuMotors Limited, Japan.Any part or component replaced under warranty is alsowarranted to be free from any defects in material and/orworkmanship until the original vehicle warranty period ormileage limitation has expired.The benefits of other manufacturers/suppliers warrantieswho supply components, bodywork or ancillary equipmentto the completed/sold Isuzu vehicle, are the responsibilityof that particular manufacturer or supplier. Please readcarefully the ‘Specifically Excluded Items’ section.7

C O N D I T I O N SO FWA R R A N T YConditions of warranty.No liability is accepted for any economical loss of anynature (direct or indirect) or any consequential losseshowsoever arising.Nothing in this warranty shall exclude or limit Isuzu’s liabilityfor death or personal injury caused by Isuzu’s negligence orfraudulent misrepresentations.The warranty transfers automatically on the sale of the vehicleto any new owner provided the vehicle remains within theUK (excluding Northern Ireland) – see point 10 overleaf. Thewarranty is in addition to and does not affect any customer’srights as a consumer.1. The vehicle must be regularly maintained in accordance with themanufacturer’s recommendations, using genuine Isuzu parts or parts ofmatching quality.2. The defect must not be caused by the use of non-genuine Isuzu parts orparts not of matching quality fitted to the vehicle.3. The defect must not be caused by overloading.4. The defect is not due to normal wear-and-tear or deterioration andcorrosion which can occur during normal usage.5. The defect is not a result of an accident.6. The defect is not due to abuse, neglect, vandalism or modification that isnot approved by Isuzu Truck (UK) Limited.7. The defect is not due to participating in racing, competitions trials or incircumstances exposing the vehicle to undue risk or operating conditions.8. The defect is not due to acts of God, riots, civil commotion, earthquakes orabnormal weather conditions.9. Fuel used has to be of suitable quality to match EN590.10. The vehicle must be purchased, serviced and maintained by companiesor individuals based within the UK (excluding Northern Ireland). Whilst avehicle may travel abroad in its normal work/operation its base or operatingcentre must be located in the UK (excluding Northern Ireland) in order toqualify for Isuzu Truck (UK) Limited’s warranty cover.8

S P E C I F I C A L LYE X C L U D E DI T E M SSpecifically excluded items.1. Any part which is not a genuine Isuzu part - including bodywork, powertake-offs or ancillary equipment.2. The replacement of normal service items such as oils, filters, wiper-bladesand top-up fluids.3. Wear items such as, but not limited to, brake linings, brake pads, brakedrums, brake discs plus clutch components including plate/disc, coverand release bearing.4. Routine adjustment or replacement made necessary by fair wear-and-tearand/or normal usage.5. The breakage or scratching of any glass after delivery to the customer.6. Tyres – these are covered but by the individual tyre company’s ownwarranty terms and conditions.7. Replacement vehicles.8. Hotels or any consequential travel or subsistence costs.9. Use of unauthorized fuels or incorrect specification oils and/or fluids.13. Auxiliary/ancillary equipment supplied but not manufactured byIsuzu Motors Japan Limited or Isuzu Truck (UK) Limited, where thatmanufacturer’s own warranty will apply, E.g. Power take-off units, tippingequipment, hydraulics, tail-lifts or accessories.14. Bodywork – where bodywork is supplied by a bodybuilder, the customerwill be subject to that bodybuilder’s own warranty terms and conditions.Any claims against that bodybuilder will not be submitted or administeredby Isuzu Truck (UK) Limited. In the case of the warranty cover on prebodied vehicles supplied by Isuzu Truck (UK) Limited, any warranty repairsshould be carried out by the contracted bodybuilder, as per their own termsand conditions.15. Paint – surface corrosion on cab panels caused from defective materialsor workmanship is covered for 2 years unlimited mileage as supplied fromIsuzu Motors Japan. Any corrosion due to impact damage, chips, surfaceabrasion etc is not covered. No warranty is provided for the paint applied tothe chassis or chassis components.10. Failure through contamination of fuels, fluids and/or foreign matter ingress.11. Wheel alignment, balancing or geometry.12. Adjustments of headlamps, any cables and/or brakes etc.9

P R O C E D U R EI NT H EE V E N TO FAWA R R A N T YC L A I MProcedure in the eventof a warranty claim.Please adopt the following procedure in the event that you should wish to makea claim under the Vehicle Manufacturer’s Warranty.1. Report the failure to your local Isuzu Truck UK dealer as soon as possibleafter a defect has occurred. (Failure to report on a timely basis may result inrejection of the claim.)2. Should a roadside failure occur within Mainland UK, the Channel Islandsand the Isle of Man, telephone 0800 008 7210 where Isuzu CommercialAssistance will arrange for Assistance or recovery to attend the vehicle.3. Give your name and details of your vehicle (e.g. type, registration number),fault / breakdown, your location, telephone number.4. You will be asked a series of questions over the telephone. Please answerprecisely and clearly.5. If your vehicle is drivable you will be advised of your nearest Isuzu Truck UKdealer. If your vehicle is immobile Isuzu Commercial Assistance will manageyour breakdown and attend at roadside.6. On arrival at the Isuzu truck dealer please:a) Confirm in detail the work to be completed and discuss any other needs.b) Sign any paperwork requested by them by way of authorisation tocommence the work.7. They will keep you advised of the progress of the work and whetherany additional work is required which is not covered by the warranty.Authorisation will be requested to carry out this additional work.8. Once the repair has been completed you will be advised the vehicle isavailable for collection.9. On collection of the vehicle you will be asked to sign a satisfaction note tothe effect that the repair has been carried out correctly.10. All Non Warrantable or Rejected Warranty repairs will be expected to bepaid for at time of collection.0800 008 721010

O V E R S E A S&PA R T SWA R R A N T YOverseaswarranty.Partswarranty.If your vehicle fails due to a warrantable defect whilst outside of Mainland UK,the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, you will be required to authorize allwork to be carried out to the vehicle. When repairs are completed, pleaseensure that all invoices are collected from the repairer. If circumstances requireyou to pay for the cost of repairs, where possible retain any displaced partsfor viewing when you return to your base to aid the submission of the claim toIsuzu Truck (UK) Ltd.Should any Isuzu genuine parts, purchased and fitted by an Isuzu Truck UKdealer require repair or replacement as a result of material or workmanshipdefects, the parts will be replaced or repaired free of charge by any Isuzu truckdealer. Where the work has been/is being carried out by a non authorised Isuzutruck repairer, Isuzu will not be responsible for the labour costs arising. Theduration of this parts warranty is 24 months from the date of purchase with nomileage limitation.Upon return to Mainland UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man, discussthe failure with your local Isuzu Truck UK dealer and they will arrange for a claimform to be forwarded to you so that you may claim for reimbursement against avalid warranty claim from Isuzu Truck (UK) Ltd.The standard Terms and Conditions apply to Parts Warranty and claims willbe rejected for non compliance. Proof of purchase or supply will be requiredto substantiate your claim, as will record of the mileage at which the part wasoriginally fitted.11

Keeping the vehicle on the road, safe and fully operationalreducing downtime.2. Maintaining exhaust emission controls reducing the effects on theenvironment and to give you optimum fuel economy.3. Maintaining higher residual trade-in values.4. Freedom from breakdowns.5. Assuring your satisfaction that your Isuzu vehicle is maintained to thehighest standards.We recommend that you arrange your services with your local Isuzu truckdealer. They will advise the servicing needs in line with your own specificoperation. They have the equipment, tools, Isuzu trained staff who withtheir experience and technical back up will ensure your vehicle is thoroughlymaintained in accordance with Isuzu recommendations, keeping up with thelatest technology.The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for damage caused by drivererrors or failure to adhere to the Isuzu recommendations made in the driver’shandbook, particularly regarding the usage of oils that do not conform to thespecifications advised therein.The inspection and services are given as a guide for vehicles operating undernormal conditions. Severe or arduous conditions will result in shorter serviceand inspection periods. In some conditions it may be necessary to considerservices and inspections to be carried out on a time basis rather than theconventional mileage interval.13

The DPD collects PM in the DPDfilter and when PM is collected inthe filter to the predetermined level,the DPD automatically burns PM(regenerates the filter). The operating condition of the DPDappears on the multi-informationdisplay, as shown on the left.21
