BusinessReality SimulationsIntroductionIn each BusinessReality simulation students are required to answer a total of one hundred twentymultiple choice questions. These questions are taken directly from the test banks of major textbooks andappear in forty sets of three; one set for each year of simulated life. Alternatively, instructors are free tosubmit their own test bank of 120 questions. In most cases two consecutive years are assigned to each chapter of a textbook, for a total of sixquestions per chapter. However, if the textbook includes more or less than twenty chapters the defaultscheme can be adapted to include: A sub-set of available chapters if the textbook is composed of more than twenty chapters.A sub-set of available chapters with repetition of a number of chapters selected randomly (Ex.Chapters 1-18 plus two chapters randomly selected).A sub-set of available chapters with repetition of a number of chapters selected deliberately (Ex.Chapters 1-18 plus two Chapters 4 & 7).The Subject matter Question sets are carefully constructed to simultaneously ensure that each set'sdifficulty is equal and that the chance two students will receive the same questions at the same time isvery low. Each set contains a chapter-specific question for the first three level's of Bloom's Taxonomy oflearning:1. Knowledgea. Knowledge is the lowest level of Bloom's Cognitive Domain theory.b. Knowledge questions simply require students to recall information previously learned.2. Comprehensiona. Comprehension is the second level of Bloom's Cognitive Domain theory.b. Comprehension questions assess student's ability to grasp a material's meaning. This isthe lowest level of understanding.3. Applicationa. Application is the third level of Bloom's Cognitive Domain Theory.b. Application questions require students to use previously learned material in newsituations. These questions require a greater level of understanding than comprehensionquestions.Once a set of questions has been answered and submitted the student's results are immediately madeavailable to them. The stem of each question is repeated above four possible answers. The correctanswer is indicated in red text. Subject Matter Question proficiency directly affects student success orfailure within the simulation. Specifically, correct answers translate into salary increases while incorrectanswers lead to salary declines. Additionally, low proficiencies can lead to professional termination overtime. For more information about Subject Matter Questions please contact the simulation administrator(admin@businessreality.org). Information regarding Bloom's Taxonomy can be accessed via any of thelinks shown hing blooms.htm3
