2010 Honda Accord

Ingeniously simple. Emphatically human. technologically advanced. Fantastically fun.

Accord EX-L V-6 Coupe shown in San Marino Red.

It’s not just a car,it’s a mission statement.More than just steel, aluminum, rubber and glass, theHonda Accord is a collection of ideas. Like the beliefthat being responsible and having fun are not mutuallyexclusive. Or that the proper hierarchy in automotivedesign is man first, machine second. Or that innovativeengine technology can result in both power and efficiency. These are among the principles you’ll find at work inevery Honda. And particularly in the 2010 Accord.

This is about linesand curves and shapes. In other words, it’s about desire. How you feel about your carhas a lot to do with how itlooks. Accord has been styledto attract a glance. To invite astare. With its clearly definededges and powerful stance, ithas the ability to stir passionfrom any angle.

It starts with a promise. It starts with a commitment.Turn the key and you continue a dialogue thatbegan over 50 years ago. One in which the needsof our customers, as well as the environment, are heard and acted upon. The 2010 Accordresponds with not only powerful output, but alsowith efficiency 1 and low emissions.2It starts with an engine.

Accord EX-L V-6 Coupe shown in San Marino Red.Accord engines have long made hearts beat faster. Now they make your mind race, too.Imagine an engine that not only exhilarates, but can also minimize fuel use andemissions. Accord offers three. A 177-hp, 2.4-liter i-VTEC 4-cylinder (sedanonly) and a 190-hp version, both of which received a Partial Zero-EmissionsVehicle (PZEV) rating.2 A 271-hp, 3.5-liter V‑6 is also a model of efficiency.1 The Accord’s V-6 features the latest generation of Variable CylinderManagement (VCM ) technology. This system can activate and deactivatethe engine’s cylinders as needed to meet the demands of accelerationand maximize fuel efficiency.1 During steady cruising, the Accord’s V-6 shutsWhen maximum torque is required – such as when you’re merging ontoWhen cruising speeds climb, the engine willdown the entire rear bank of cylinders. Sothe freeway or climbing a steep hill – all six cylinders are firing to deliver themove from 3-cylinder operation to a 4‑cylinderthe vehicle is essentially running on half anengine’s full power. The transition between the three operating modes ismode. To help keepCancellation (ANC) function generatesengine vibration from reaching the cabin inout-of-phase sound waves to cancel out anyundesirable noise that may be due to theharmonics of 3-cylinder operation.364every mode, a pair of active engine mountsautomatically adjust their firmness to helpabsorb energy.

The rear suspension is anespecially clever construction. Its multi-link design deliversterrific handling while itscompact, optimized suspensionpositioning has enhancedlateral rigidity for greaterstability in corners. Both the front and rear suspension components attach to subframes, which are then fixed to the unit body. The bushings at all rigid mountingpoints have been meticulously engineered to help isolate road noiseand vibration while also assuring Accord-quality handling.Every 2010 Accord comes with disc brakes on all four wheels for smooth, powerful and fade-resistant stopping capability. Electronic Brake Distribution(EBD) apportions braking force according to dynamic loading.Nothing characterizes an Accord more than its distinctive feel. Much of this springs from thevehicle’s front double wishbone and rear multi-link suspension. Engineered for instant response,it is the perfect embodiment of our core philosophy of continual improvement, even in thoseareas where we’re already a leader. Additional features include Variable Gear Ratio (VGR) powersteering for excellent high-speed stability and enhanced low-speed maneuverability. These arejust a couple of the things that make the Honda Accord such a uniquely enjoyable car to drive. For an extra helping of athletic ability, try the Accord EX-L V-66-speed Coupe. Its short-throw shifter gives you pinpoint controlover the vehicle’s well-chosen gear ratios. Eighteen-inch alloywheels also complement its sporting potential.

precisely engineered so thatparts, features, systems (and driver)all work together seamlessly. From the way the driver’s seatholds your body to the way theaudio buttons feel to your touch, there’s a reason for everything.Nothing is superfluous. Nothingseems like an afterthought.Man and machine have neverbeen more in tune.
