Commitment

Cheerleadercommitment Attend all practices and performances ontimeFollow the student code of conductBe respectful of peers, adults, and theschool you represent.To be prepared in all aspects of schoolincluding class, practice, performances ect.Follow the guidelines laid out in thecheerleading handbook (see demerits)

ParentCommitment To drop of/pick up your child at allpractices and performances on time.To pay for the cost of participation.( 378.88 uniform 120.00 camp fee)To assist your child in allfundraising/team building activities

Time commitment 8th grade : 1-2 practices per week and 1performance7th grade : 1 practice per week and 1 performanceLimit of one evening performance/week. This is adistrict rule.Location of evening performance varies weeklyFor performances not at Tidwell, a bus willtransport to the game, and parents are required topick up from performance location (BNHS or NHS).Participation in athletics and other sports is not anissue. We try to plan our calendar accordingly.*all times and days of practice and performance aresubject to change at sponsors discretion.

FAQ About Cost Do I have to pay for anything throughoutthe year?– No, we will not ask you for money throughoutthe year. We will require some fundraising. Can I set up a payment plan? When is the uniform money due?– No, all payment is due on the day of thefitting– The fitting is April 29th. All money is due (noexceptions)

Eligibility List Monday 3/21 the eligibility list willbe posted on the cheer website.Eligibility requirements:-Parent meeting attendance/notice-All forms submitted by March 11th All candidates posted are approvedto tryout.

Tryout Video Video of dance and cheer posted tothe website March 16th following thefirst day of the workshop.Mondays workshop will be used in itsentirety for learning tryout material.

Cheer WORKSHOP March 21-25th– All cheer candidates must attendworkshop from 4:00 – 6:00.– This will provide girls an opportunity to goover the dance, cheer, jumps, and ask anylast minute questions.– Pick up at 6:00 is MANDATORY. Late pickup can result in forfeit of tryout.

Tryout FAQ Can I watch?– No, tryouts are closed to the public. Parents will not beallowed in the building. Who will be judging?What does the score sheet look like? When will I know if my child made it? How are the girls chosen? – Please see handbook– List will be posted on the cheer website the same day within2 hours of completion.– Top 18 Scores from each grade level without a large breakwill determine the squad.

What happensif I make thesquad?

Physical Please schedule a physical as soon as the‘Made It’ list is posted.Cheerleaders will not be allowed toparticipate in practice until your coachreceives a completed physical!Practices will begin early May.

Camp When : TBA (June)Where: TBA (Eaton)How Much: 120.00 Camp is mandatory. This is where we learn all of ourcheers, chants, stunts, dances ect. We use what welearn at camp all year long and it is a bondingexperience for the squad. Please make vacationarrangements accordingly.

STUNTING & Tumbling All 7th and 8th Graders will betrained in basic stunting.The rigor of the stunting skillsrequired will be based on thecomfort level of the coaches andTHEN the comfort level of theparticipants.
