April 2021ChevyChevyDealerVolume 11 IssuePresidents Corner by Bob DykeWOW, WHAT A YEAR!Although the past year was not Corvette Club friendly, the MBCC participated inmeetings and events and accomplished more than most clubs on the East Coast in asafe environment. Many members are missed and hope to once again enjoy yourcompany in the near futureAfter a years delay due to Covid and an extra day due to severe weather, membersof the MBCC and Jacksonville, Fl. Corvette Club met for lunch at Lulu’s restaurant,Barefoot Landing. An enjoyable time was had by all discussing events of both Clubsand also inspecting a couple of new C8’s that made the trip. Looking forward to jointevents in the futureHopefully with more of our members obtaining the vaccines, we will be able to safely gather to enjoyevents that are being planned for the year. Due to the cancellation of our June Car Show, we are tryingdifferent events to raise money for our charities. Our rst sponsored Cruise-In will be Saturday April 17at Harleys Sports Bar and Grille 2551 US 17 S Little River, SC. Noon-3PM. Your participation will helpus to raise funds.PLEASE NOTE: Not Harleys Roadhouse on RtAlso on April 25 we have our Dave and Norma Mystery Cruise. The signup sheet at our monthlymeeting indicates great enthusiasm for this event. This will also be an event to raise money for ourcharities, so looking for your participation. Staying with the raising charitable funds theme, I haveavailable 50/30/10/10 raf e tickets. 10.00 donation per ticket. Need not be present to win, drawn at ourOctober 10th Monthly Meeting. For those unable to attend our meetings, please send a check to MBCCand I will enter you in the raf e and send you a ticket. Any new members whohave not yet attended an orientation and therefore have not receivedtheir packets and name tags, please let me know if you will beattending the February meeting. If not, I can make arrangements to getthem to you.If any members have lost their name tags or have new cars that theywould like listed on new tags, they can be ordered for 10; just let meknow. I have MBCC cling-ons for sale for your car that are made ofstatic plastic and will not cause any damage to the car. For optimalstick, dampen them before you adhere them to car. The cost for these is 22 for 2. I also have car decals ( 3.00) for purchase at all meetings.If you attend a club event where members will caravan, please bring atwo-way radio so you can communicate with others. The radios arealways tuned to channel 8.If there are any changes to your address, phone number or e-mail,please let me know. This is another major set-back forour chari es. The commi ee is currently lookingat other op ons to raise money.At the present me, we are planning to conduct charity cruiseins, the rst of which will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021,from Noon to 3pm at Harley’s Bar & Grill in Li le River. Thiscruise-in will be open to all cars/bikes. There will be a 10.00dona on, music, 50-50 ra e, awards, and food andrefreshments will be available.We are in discussions with Broadway at the Beach aboutconduc ng a Labor Day Weekend Parade around their propertysimilar to their Christmas Parade.
