SCOPE AND SEQUENCEFOR MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCEBrainPOP Science is a phenomenon-driven middle school science product that provides robustinvestigations, units, embedded assessments, and actionable diagnostics for 6-8th grade acrossPhysical, Life, and Earth & Space Science.INSTRUCTIONAL COVERAGEASSESSMENT COVERAGE23 weeks of instruction includes 2 investigations per unit and oneengineering investigation per grade.Embedded formative assessments andunit-level summative assessments todrive student mastery. Our 15 modular units incorporate all dimensions of 3D Learning and is aligned to the 5Einstructional model. Our flexible design allows science teachers to choose the timing and order inwhich you complete units to align with and enhance your science curriculum.

BrainPOP Science is aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and select state standards. Full standardscoverage will be available by early 2022. Our scope and sequence is focused on performance expectations that arearranged by domain, unifying topic and sequenced intentionally.PHYSICAL SCIENCELIFE SCIENCEEARTH & SPACE SCIENCEStructure & Propertyof MatterStructure, Function, & InformationProcessingSpace SystemsChemical ReactionsMatter & Energy in Organisms &EcosystemsHistory of EarthForces & InteractionsInterdependent Relationships inEcosystemsEarth’s SystemsEnergyGrowth, Development, &ReproductionWaves & Electromagnetic RadiationNatural Selection & AdaptationsWeather & ClimateHuman Impacts
