6Customized lubricants for your applicationAsphalt machinery and equipment are exposed to adverseweather and environmental conditions during every stageof production: Stripping, recycling, mixing, laying andcompressing. They are influenced by unusually highstresses such as vibrations, high temperatures and shockloads. Manufacturersof hydraulic pumps write in their operating manuals thatthe pump can only produce the necessary workingpressure if the viscosity of the hydraulic fluid doesnot exceed a specific value.AssemblyTo provide a fast tool change, screw connections should beprepared with an assembly paste. This assembly paste willallow a reliable screw-in and loosening process withoutseizures, even in the bad conditions in which constructionmachines have to work. The time required for toolchanges is reduced to a minimum, and the lifetime of thescrew connections is extended.Due to the very good viscosity-temperature behaviour ofRENOLIN B HVI hydraulic oils, we can guarantee that atlow temperatures a fast and reliable start of the machineis possible and at high temperatures a sufficient viscosity isavailable. This characteristic ensures the forming of astable lubricating film resulting in a good seal and aconsistent function of the hydraulic system.GLEITMO100 S SPRAY is a smooth assembly spray with alarge range of applications. The selection of solidlubricants achieves minimum friction coefficients of screwconnections. During force fitting and insertion of bushes,pins and bearings, galling and slip stick are preventedeffectively.

These machines’bearings have to withstand high shock and dust loadswhilst being exposed to all types of weather conditions. EPgreases (EP Extreme Pressure) must be used in suchapplications.Vibrating screenThe bearings in vibrating screen machines have to dealwith specific operational conditions promptingmanufacturers of roller bearings to specify specialinstructions for the lubrication process and for thelubricant used. Standard multipurpose greases arenormally unsuitable and can lead to bearing damage.LAGERMEISTER XXL and LAGERMEISTER EP 2 are ideal forthe highest demands and also for lifetime lubrication. Incentral lubrication systems these greases are still wellpumpable at low temperatures. Using LAGERMEISTER XXLlonger lubrication intervals are achievable than withconventional multi-purpose greases.Only approved and tested greases are permitted.Unsuitable greases will lead to an increased oil separationof the lubricant resulting in an interrupted lubricatingfilm in the bearing due to its vibration. This is becausethey are exposed to weather conditions and also get hotthrough the radiation heat of the dryer. The demands onthe grease are thus very high.Twin-shaft mixerTwin-shaft mixers are favoured due to their efficientwork in asphalt mixing plants. Still the pillow blockspositioned on the outside of the mixing chamberexperience high temperatures and loads. This is becausethe high temperatures of the mixing goods and thevibrations created during the mixing procedure aretransferred via the mixer shafts directly into the pillowblocks.LAGERMEISTER XXL surpasses these demands, thusmeeting the criteria of a wide working temperature rangeand fulfilling the requests of heavy duty applications.Thanks to its excellent worked stability and its highthermal resistance, the lubricating intervals are muchlonger than using conventional lithium greases.LAGERMEISTER XXL forms a very stable grease collar onthe bearing, which protects it against the ingress ofenvironmental dust and humidity.URETHYN MP 2 is a high-temperature and heavy-loadgrease, which leads to long re-lubricating intervalsbecause of its high shear and temperature stability.URETHYN MP 2 also forms a stable grease collar on theouter edge of the bearing protecting the bearing fromthe ingress of environmental dust.

Asphalt ProcessingWire rope loaderThe loading of the different hoppers with mixed asphalt isusually undertaken using a wire rope-pulled loader. As thecable winch is often on the outside, it has to withstand allweather conditions and cope with dust loads upon thesteel rope. During production wire ropes receive an innerrope lubrication, however their exterior has to be relubricated and preserved occasionally in order to minimisewear and rust formation especially at the point of beltreturn.CEPLATTYN 300 SPRAY and CEDRACON DS SPRAY arereliable graphited wire rope lubricants, which have verygood lubricating, dry running and corrosion protectionproperties prolonging the service lives of the wire ropes.Compressed air toolProportioning valves on scales and material dischargeshave to close and open in a really short time. Theelastomer seals of the pneumatically operated cylindersmust be lubricated with oils for compressed air tools.Without a suitable lubrication the seals become brittleleading to leaks and environmental dust entering thecylinders. Scoring and surface wear of the plungerrods will occur, resulting in blowing off during standstilland jerky movements while opening or closing or, in theworst case, to the overflow of the material.Oils for compressed air tools of the KOMPRANOL rangeare excellently compatible with elastomers. The lubricant iskept in the lubrication area, does neither move outwardnor does it stick to the plunger rod, therefore preventingenvironmental dirt from sticking to the plunger rod.Thanks to the special oil component, KOMPRANOL issuitable for a very wide temperature area withoutlosing its lubricity.11

Due to the radiation heat of the hotasphalt, a chain lubricant with a high thermal resistanceand a good adhesion is required, which sufficiently creepsinto the chain links to be lubricated and protects themfrom corrosion.AugerDuring the production process, the auger is completelyenveloped by hot asphalt. Therefore its bearing is indirectlysubjected to the same temperature as the asphalt. It isimportant that the lubricant builds up a grease collar sothat the hot bitumen, which exists in the asphalt, cannot enter the bearing.CEPLATTYN KG 10 HMF is a special, extremely sticky,highgraphite semi-fluid grease. Due to its flow propertiesthe graphite is transported to the lubricating point,achieving very good dry running properties with longre-lubrication intervals and preventing dust, water andbitumen from ingressing. To guarantee an unobstructedmaterial flow in the hopper and on the scrapingconveyor, they should be sprayed with a bitumen and anasphalt release agent. This also applies to dump trucksand transport vehicles.URETHYN MP 2 is a polyureabased high-temperature greasesuitable for temperatures of up to 200 C. Due to the highviscosity of the base oil, it is ideal for this low-speed bearingand develops a strong stable grease collar on the outeredge of the bearing. Thanks to the special polyureathickener this grease has a very high ability to absorbpressure and maintains its worked stability for a long time.This characteristic allows for long re-lubrication intervalsand therefore quantity savings. URETHYN MP 2 also offers avery good pumpability in central lubrication systems.
