Jolly Phonics uses the synthetic phonics method, which means that the lettersounds are taught first, on their own. The Phonics Teacher’s Book contains a set of structured daily lesson plans,which correspond to the daily activities in the Phonics Pupil Books. After a quick revision of previous letter sounds, and the introduction of thenew letter sound /r/, children are given the opportunity to see and practise theletter formation.There are then multiple activities—which can be done as a class on thewhiteboard, and printed for individual use later—to reinforce learning.
