Freedom Plus by HSBC4Why Freedom Plus?Investments into HSBC Portfolios or HSBC GlobalInvestment Fund ranges, is provided to HSBC Bank plc,Jersey Branch by the Freedom Plus nominee service.The benefits of holding your investments through theFreedom Plus nominee service are: simplifies the administration of your HSBC Portfoliosand HSBC Global Investment Funds investments; we will manage customer communications,valuations etc; we will act in accordance with your instructions,make arrangements for the purchase and sale ofyour HSBC Portfolios and HSBC Global InvestmentFunds investments; comprehensive reporting with all your FreedomPlus holdings shown on one half-yearlyvaluation statement; online access and transactions; the ability to buy, sell and switch between HSBCPortfolios and HSBC Global Investment funds;* and the option to invest on a regular basis and build upyour investment portfolio over a period of time, ormake one single payment. You can make furtherpayments to top up and add to your investmentaccount whenever you wish.How to investWe offer two ways to invest – a lump sum investmentor a Regular Investment Plan. The minimum investmentamount for lump sum investment is /US / 10,000 and /US / 250 per month for MIP.Lump sum: If you opt for a lump sum investmentyou can top up your fund whenever you like.There is no maximum investment amount and we canaccept settlement in any major currency.Regular Investment Plan: Many people find thatinvesting a set amount each month is an attractive way ofbuilding up a substantial investment portfolio. Thereforewe also offer a Monthly Investment Plan. A monthlystanding order will be taken from your chosen bankaccount and you will be required to keep making monthlycontributions until you have invested at least theminimum investment amount.*The HSBC Global Investments Funds and HSBC Portfolios are two different fundstructures. Freedom Plus by HSBC8Freedom Plus Nominee Service ChargeFund chargesThere is no specific charge for the Freedom Plus service.However, it is important to note that charges will applyfor investing in the funds available via the Freedom Plusservice as well as ongoing fund charges.The charges vary depending on which fund you choose.The following information is a description of each typeof charge; however please refer to the relevant fundbrochure and prospectus for the exact charges for thefunds you have chosen.Initial chargeThe initial charge is taken prior to purchasing your sharesin the fund which is placed at the bid price. The initialcharge is a one-off fee and therefore will not be refundedif you decide to cash in your investment. There is nocharge when you sell your shares.Advised chargeWhile there are no charges in the Freedom Plus nomineeservice, fees may be applicable for the advice you receivefrom your Premier Wealth Manager.Annual management chargeAn annual management charge is levied on eachof the funds according to the complexity and costsinvolved in managing the underlying investments ofeach fund. Some funds may also be subject to aperformance fee. The annual management charge will notbe taken as an explicit deduction from your investment, itis calculated into the price of the fund shares.Ongoing Charges Figure (“OCF”)The OCF, provides a measure of what it costs to investin a fund on an ongoing basis. The OCF is made up ofthe Annual Management Charge and other operatingcosts. Other operating costs may include the costs forother services paid for by the fund, such as the feespaid to trustees (or depositaries), custodian, auditorsand regulators. Freedom Plus by HSBC10Switching investmentsas your needs changeSell, switch, buyDividendsYou can give us further instructions to buy, sell, switchor top up your investment.Depending on your choice of fund, dividends may bepaid. Where dividends are declared, they are normallyon an annual basis. For certain bond funds interimdividends may also be paid.Cashing in your investmentPlease remember, these funds should be consideredas a medium to long-term commitment, for exampleat least five years.However, you can cash in all or part of your investmentat any time at no charge. When you cash in yourinvestment you will receive the bid value multiplied bythe number of shares you sell. Further informationregarding dealing may be found at the DealingInformation section on page 11 of this brochure.The minimum withdrawal amount is US / / 250. If youonly wish to sell some of your shares, you will need tomaintain the minimum investment amount.If you have invested a lump sum you can choose to havedividends remitted to your nominated bank account,however they must amount to at least US / / 50.If the above criteria are not met, or you do not choose tohave dividends paid, dividends will be used to purchaseadditional shares in the same fund. We do not make anyinitial charge for reinvestment of dividends so this can bean efficient and easy way to increase your investment.
