5Turn on your ChromeboxOn the Chromebox, the power button is located at the upper-right corner ofthe keyboard. A "connect" screen will appear when the Chromebox firstboots up.Select your language settingsUse the "Select your language" drop-down list to choose your defaultlanguage setting. If there is more than one way to type in your language,you may be prompted to select a keyboard input method as well.Connect to a networkSelect a wireless network from the "Select a network" list to connect to theInternet. If network access is protected, you will need an access passwordto connect to it.Accept the Terms of ServiceOnce connected to a network, accept the Terms of Service. YourChromebox will then download any available system updates, so youautomatically get the latest Chrome OS features.Sign in to your Google AccountIf you already have a Google Account, enter your username and passwordin the sign-in box that appears and click on the Sign in button.Important: Sign in with your primary Google Account. This accountwill be set as the owner and is the only account that will be able tochange certain Chrome settings.EnglishGetting started

English6Getting startedCreate a new Google AccountYou can create a new Google Account if you don’t already have one. ClickCreate a Google Account on the right to set up a new account. A GoogleAccount gives you access to useful web services developed by Google,such as Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Calendar.Browse as a guestYou can also use the Chromebox without a Google Account by clickingBrowse as a Guest on the left.Set your account pictureThis picture will represent your account on the main sign-in screen andstatus area. If you like, you can use the Chromebox’s built-in webcam totake a photo. If you don’t want to take a photo at this time, you can choosean icon instead. You can always update your picture after you’ve signed in.Also, your Chromebox is integrated with your Google account profile. Aftersigning in with your Google account you have the option of choosing yourGoogle account profile picture.

Right-click to bring up the context sensitive menu and click onAvailable offline. A check mark will appear to indicate the file isavailable offline.GmailComposing an email1. From the launcher, click on the Gmail icon.2. Click COMPOSE.3. Enter the recipient’s email address, the subject, and the message.4.
