Astore has the perfect products for your business. Astore thermoplasticpipework systems have been manufactured and used for the pressurepipework requirements of different market sectors for many years. Our range of fully matched systems of pipes, fittings and valves areideally suited for a variety of applications where a lightweight, highquality and durable pipework system is required.Water treatmentWater and waste water treatment are critical toevery industry. Each industry has its own set ofrequirements that determine treatment needs, from process water to waste water. Astoreunderstands water technologies and is readyto help you meet these requirements. Througheverything from cooling lines to high-puritywater technology and related services, Astorehelps industry and manufacturers meet specificwater quality requirements to ensure consistentprocesses and production. Astore also helpsindustry meet ever-increasing industrial wastewater regulations, while improving efficiencyand reducing costs.Water treatmenwAquacultureAquaculture is the farming of aquatic plantsand animals, and encompasses everything fromplants to fish, molluscs, crustaceans, amphibiansand reptiles. Aquaculture is the world’s fastestgrowing food production sector, increasing by10 per cent per annum over the past decade. As world fisheries continue to decline, it is worthnoting that already 40% of the fish consumedworldwide are produced in farms.Astore has always had a very close relationshipwith the practical side of the aquacultureindustry, working with production, technologyand supply companies. We provide pressurepipework solutions and are able to advise onprojects at all levels and at all stages ofdevelopment.2Aquaculturewww.astore.uk.com

Food andFood and beverageIrrigationAstore has worked with a variety ofbusinesses across the food and beveragesupply chain to help develop innovativepipework solutions to the industry. The food and beverage sector is facingrapidly evolving competitive pressures andbusinesses need to adapt to combat thesepressures, but also to maintain acompetitive advantage.Astore offer food and beverage companiesinformation, product range selection andinnovative solutions to enhance theirstrategies, needs and future applications.IrrigationWater is one of our most precious naturalresources. Yet in many of the fastest growing regionsof the world, it is also the scarcest. In some areas70% of the natural water can be used for irrigationpurposes. By using Astore pressure pipework youcan reduce leakage and increase control and helpaddress the seasonal scarcity of water.Astore products offer simple installation with longterm performance benefits resulting in improvedproductivity. The range offers flexibility, enabling you to lay-downnew pipelines with compression fittings; or adding toor branching off from existing pipelines with clampsaddles. Both solutions offer leak-free performance.nww.astore.uk.comPools and spasPools and spasAstore has over 30 years experience in the UKpool and spa industry and are knowledgeable inall aspects of the pipe requirements for thepool/spa market. Flow CalculationsPressure Drop in FittingsPressure drop due to friction can be determined for practicalpurposes using the flow nomogram overleaf. To determine the total pressure drop in the system, the totalstraight pipe length calculated for the fittings is added to thetotal straight pipe length to obtain the total drop. The pressure drop at a given flow rate can be determined asfollows:1. Obtain the internal diameter (ID) of the pipe to be used byreferring to the pipe dimension tables on pages 10 and 11.2. Mark this diameter on the Internal Diameter Scale.3. Mark the required flow rate in litres per second onFlow Rate Scale. The pressure drop in fittings can be calculated with thefollowing formula: L K x IDWhere ‘L’ is the equivalent pipe length (in metres),‘K’ is the fittings constant (different for each kind of fitting)‘ID’ is the fitting internal diameter in mm.The fittings constant ‘K’ is shown below:4. Draw a straight line connecting these two points and extendthrough the flow Velocity and the Hydraulic Gradient Scales.Elbow 90 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .0.0305. The velocity of flow in metres per second is determined fromthe intersection with the Flow Velocity Scale.Tee 90 (Straight through) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .0.0126. The frictional head loss in metres per 100 metres ofpipe can then be read off the Hydraulic Gradient Scale.Bends 90 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .0.012Elbow 45 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .0.014Tee 90 (Side branch) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .0.060Reducing Bush (per size reduction) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .0.015These values are included as a guide to facilitate calculation ofoverall system performance and should not be used in isolation.8www.astore.uk.com

Plastic bottles are responsible for 15% of total plastic consumption in Austria.13 According to the new BMK study, 300,000t of plastic - including 49,000t of plastic bottles - were put on the market in 2018. In total, 1.6 billion plastic bottles are placed on the market every year, which equals 181 plastic bottles per Austrian.14
